Happy Sunday, peeps! It's time for a new Paper Players challenge, with the amazing Claire as our hostess! She has a theme challenge for us:
I just love all those umbrella images, so I decided to use this little umbrella diecut that I used last week, but this time I paired it with some pretty gingham and floral papers:
I used the fun sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:
I stamped a few little hearts from Love For You on the lower banner, and added some gems to the top of each umbrella. The sentiment is from Stamp Simply. I think these colors are patterns are just the sweetest!
So what will inspire you from our board this week? Umbrellas? Boots? Cloudy skies? Or maybe just a rainbow! Please share your creation with us at the Players and stop by to see what the Design Team dreamed up as well!
I have been patiently waiting some of the unusual birds that fly through my little yard at this time of the year, on their way to their summer feeding grounds! I checked my photos from last year and knew that the rose-breasted grosbeaks made their appearance right around this time! As I was tidying up yesterday, I looked out my kitchen window and there he was!
About that time, John came around the side of the house with the weedeater and scared him away! A few minutes later, at another feeder, these appeared!!!
The male (on the bottom) flew away, and if you look at the right side of the photo, you can see the grosbeak coming in for a landing!!!
He's barely visible here, but you can see his red spot behind the wooden platform!
I think he may have been rather intimidated by that big bird, because he soon flew back to the other feeder, where his little friend was a bit friendlier, LOL!
Then Mr Pileated came back to the third feeder and showed off his hanging skills!
It was an exciting bird day! Now to see some orioles!! Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!
Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly. Isaiah 60:20-22

Love that gingham, LeAnne! It's so fresh and crisp! A red letter day at the bird feeders! We didn't see a Grosbeak this spring and have never seen a Pileated Woodpecker. Thanks for sharing your sweet visitors.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is so pretty!!!! I love the color combo! Gingham, Florals, and hearts are all perfect together! This is a fantastic layout, too! Those little umbrellas are fabulous for my rainy day theme. You certainly made my challenge shine!
ReplyDeleteI love your visitors! Spring has certainly arrived! Have a great week, My Friend!

Cute card and beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteWow LeAnne you are blessed with so many amazing birds in your yard! I have never seen birds so brightly colored. I love the card you created with the sketch as your inspiration for this week! The colors are just lovely and the papers that you used go together so well! Top it off with those adorable little umbrellas. Thanks for joining the hand stamped sentiments challenge!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, LeAnne, so adorable! Love those Spring umbrellas, such pretty purples and papers! Thanks so much for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
ReplyDeleteI love your umbrellas and I feel your excitement of finding those beauties at your bird feeders. I'm keeping an eye out for the grosbeaks to come through here also. I've seen the pileateds in the distance and in other yards but they haven't visited us yet. Great captures.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, You made a great card. I love the sketch. The patterns and layers add so much interest. So pretty. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove the fresh and pretty card you've created with your umbrellas LeAnne and that floral paper that you've featured does a great job of bringing the whole thing together. Great bird photos too! We have a woodpecker that has started to frequent our feeder at the moment, but the most captivating of all currently is the blue tit nesting in one of our bird boxes; her 10 babies hatched last week so it is the hive of activity! We have a camera in the box so I can watch the comings and goings on the tv all day long - it's captivating!!
ReplyDeleteSweet as can be for spring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful combination of patterns and colors, LeAnne! This card reminds me of spring showers. What amazing bird pictures! The birds at my house provide a wonderful serenade every morning!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, if you put out some natural grape jelly your bunting will love it! So happy you have the pileateds - I so miss seeing them all since we sold the house and am happy that I can come visit them virtually with you! I love the color choices and fun laayout. Your brollies are fabulous. Another wonderful card

Hello, LeAnne! I don't know what to comment on first - the umbrellas or the woodpeckers! I searched through my stash for this challenge for an umbrella and only came up with one from my Halloween stamps, which seems too out of character to use. I'm jealous that you have these great little umbrella dies! Really cute card and really fabulous birds at your feeders. We have our yard completely torn up this year in preparation for a new native planting. The birds and insects aren't much interested in all of the mud!
ReplyDeleteXoxo, Fran
What a sweet card! I love the umbrellas and all of the soft colors you pulled in! Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
ReplyDeleteHi LeAnne, Such a fresh take on the sketch over at HSS this fortnight. Paired nicely with the PP challenge. Thanks for joining us. Cheers, Jolanda - DT
