Hi peeps! I am back from my blog vacation as well as my REAL vacation! It seemed like a long summer and I couldn't wait to get to southern Delaware and the beaches! The weather was ideal, we saw some friends we hadn't seen for a long, long time (30+ years) and ate way too much! But we are glad to be home, just in time for a new Paper Players challenge! Ann is our hostess and here's her challenge for us:
I recently got this My Favorite Things (not Lawn Fawn, as I mistakenly said) set called Harvest Mouse; I have wanted it for a long time and I finally broke down! So here we go, my little mouse harvesting his apples:
I stamped him in Memento Black and colored him with Blends, then used the matching die to cut him out:
I added a sentiment and another little bushel basket of apples too! They all went on some Real Red, Crushed Curry and Old Olive DSP strips cut with a Pretty Pink Posh die:
I left the inside blank so I could fill it in when I decide to send it out! I used the FMS sketch as well as the CAS on Sunday theme of stripes:
I hope this theme challenge will get you started on your fall-themed cards! Share yours with us at the Paper Player blog and while you're there, check out what the DT has come up with! Can't wait to see your creativity!
The first Saturday we were on vacation, Dana, Wayne and Cassidy also came down to spend the day at Cape Henlopen State Park. A lot of people don't realize that Delaware has a shoreline not only along the Atlantic Ocean (a short one, but it's there) as well as a shoreline along the Delaware Bay which is the opening of the Delaware river. The town of Lewes (pronounced Lewis) is right on the point where the bay and ocean meet, so you can spend time on the calm shores of the bay, or get the excitement of the ocean waves on the ocean! They opted for the ocean, but stopped by our little apartment when they came off the beach. Cassidy and Dana hammed it up with Grampy:
Then we all walked along the docks at Fisherman's Wharf, looking at the boats:
Then it was a short jaunt into the little town, which was a walk down memory lane for Dana and Wayne, as this is where they got married five years ago, in this little pavillion:
The whole town is full of flowers like this...there is a dedicated group of people who take care them throughout the year...they're gorgeous!
