Hi everyone! Happy JULY! It's time for a new challenge from As You See It, and this week we have a sketch...and it has THREE elements, my favorite!
The leader of our TOPS weight-loss group is going to be a very youthful-looking 70 years old in a couple of days, so this sketch worked perfectly for a card for her! Here we go:
Those gorgeous flowers from Hues of Happiness were easy as pie to dicut and layer on a panel of Basic White that had been embossed with the Timeword Type embossing folder. Before embossing it, I lightly stamped the number "70" using a Tim Holtz number day and added the happy directly over top of it in Starry Sky ink. I layered that all on a piece of plaid Coastal Cabana DSP and as a final embellishment, added some sequins and vellum leaves that were embossed with White craft ink:
Two sentiments from Happiness Abounds were stamped on the inside, as well as a rose outline; I love how these fonts work together!
Our design team has some fabulous samples for you to check out and to give you some inspiration! I hope you'll check them out and play with our sketch this week! See you at As You See It!
Another of Cassidy's baking achievements....this was also a box mix (we'll graduate to scratch one of these days) and she managed to do 99% of it without my help! She made chocolate chip cookies with cookie dough filling and sprinkles around the outside! They were DELICIOUS! Of course, we have to have a little fun while they're baking:
Getting the hang of an offset spatula:
The final product! Let me tell you...they were amazing!
Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteA beautiful trio of colors for your pretty flowers, LeAnne - your leader is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteNow I want one of those cookies for breakfast! lol

So beautiful, LeAnne, this paper just keeps giving and giving! I love your vellum details - so perfect! She will love this!
ReplyDeleteHow very lovely this is. At first, it looks very simple but like all good things, the hard work looks effortless. The addition of those vellum embossed leaves and subtle texturing of the white panel all add to an already lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteThis paper is lovely and makes for a beautiful floral trio LeAnne, but I think the other details combined with it are what really make this card stand out. I really like the layered stamping of your sentiment too - I almost missed this until I read your post; a really nice touch.
ReplyDeleteThis is a showstopper LeAnne! It's nice to have a shortcut on the flowers but the leaves where not a short cut! I like that you went with vellum! The flowers pop out more because of it! Your friend will love this card!
ReplyDeleteThose roses were meant for this sketch, LeAnne, and you've made them feel at home with all the other details you've added, like the beautiful background DSP and the embossed panel they're sitting on! I love the details like the vellum leaves! By the way, Cassidy is looking very grown up now!
