JUGS617 Barnyard Birthday

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a good weekend!  I have a quick card for the JUGS challenge, one I haven't played in for a long time!

I had this stamped and cut Unity image laying on my desk, unused from another challenge, so I decided to mount it on some plaid DSP, add a diecut background panel and a resin star, and it was done:

The animals were stamped in Black Stazon ink; the sentiment, from Papertrey, was stamped in Night of Navy and diecut with a Bitty Banners die:

The inside sentiment and barn are also from Papertrey!  Such a fun set!

Thanks for popping in today!

Dana did French braids in Cassidy's hair...so pretty!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP576 Butterfly Birthday

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today and since it's the fifth Sunday, we have a fun tic-tac-toe grid!  Check it out:

I chose the bottom row across (although I could use the right column too!), so here we go:

I am still on a bit of a vintage kick.  I saw this card that my friend Bonnie created recently and I remembered that I had that butterfly image, although smaller, as well, so thanks, Bonnie, for the inspiration!  I started with a piece of Crumb Cake and stenciled a pattern from the new Butterflies and Flowers Decorative Masks with some white craft ink, then heat-set it and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle Die.  I stamped the butterflies in Stazon Black ink, then stamped a scripty stamp on top with some Crumb Cake ink, diecut it as well, then added a Basic Black mat.  The sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells was stamped, diecut and embellished with a little piece of Basic Black, diecut with a Basic Borders die:

Before mounting it on a Very Vanilla card front, I dyed some Gingham ribbon with the leftover reinkers I had from this card, then tied it around the panel:

This will go in my birthday card stash!

I hope you'll play along with our fun grid this week....check out the DT created on the Paper Players blog, then share you creation with us too!  Thanks for visiting today!

A little bowling fun with some friends from church:

She even beat her mom, her dad and her stepdad!!  Beginner's luck, I think!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS520 Duckling Congrats

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I've got a baby congrats card to share with you today, and it uses one of those adorable little critters from Easter Friends!  This little duckling seemed perfect for that special occasion:

I stamped my little duck on Shimmery White cardstock and colored her in with reinkers, then fussy-cut her out.  Once I assembled my background, I stamped the image again on top of the background DSPs and popped her up with dimensionals.  It's just impossible to fussy cut around all her little fuzziness, so stamping the image again in the background lets the fuzzies show through:

I used the sketch from FMS:

with DSPs from Hand Penned and Pansy Petals along with some borders diecut with the Basic Borders die.  The sentiment from Special Moments was made into a tag and tied with some Bumblebee Gingham ribbon.  It all went on a Basic White card base that was embossed with the Ornate Floral embossing folder.  I just love this little duckling!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AYSI267 This is Knot Good

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Time for a new As You See It challenge and it's a real pretty one:

The obvious choice would be to use a floral, but I wanted to think outside the box a bit, and I had not used Back on Your Feet for a long, long time, so here we go:

I began with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

I stamped my giraffe in Memento black ink and colored him with Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral Blends, added a sentiment in Evening Evergreen, then diecut the image and matted it with an EE mat:

I used DSPs in Calypso Coral and Soft Succulent and just to add a wee bit more of the Crumb Cake, added an Ornate Frame diecut which was embossed and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  The three little elements at the top were diecut with floral centers from the Pierced Blooms die; they kind of reminded me of the spots on the giraffe!!

Although these were not colors I would normally use together, I really like how this card turned out!  And since I have a friend who is recovering from you-know-what, and she LOVES giraffes, this is going out in the mail to her as we speak!  I hope you'll play along with our fun color challenge this week!  Check out what the AYSI Design Team created when you visit our blog to share yours as well!  See you there!

Vintage Fusion

Happy Friday, peeps!  I haven't made a vintage-style card for a while, and I loved the sketch at Fusion:

I got some new papers from Kaisercraft called Pen & Ink, and this is what I came up with:

I did flip the sketch because I wanted the floral image to be oriented from the left.  I stamped a sentiment from Friend Are Like Seashells, then added some punchouts from the pad as a horizontal border.  I dyed some Crinkled Seam Binding with some Gray Granite and Soft Suede ink and made a shabby bow as an embellishment:

For the bottom element, I cut another piece from the pad, rounded the edges and tucked it under the border:

My final embellishment was some gold pearls!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

TTTC146 My Heart is Tied to Yours

Hey there, stampers!  It's Thursday and time for Team X from the Tic Tac Toe challenge!  Here is our timely grid; we hope you'll play along!

I got almost all the squares except for Cupid and Red!!  Take your pick! I thought the SAB DSP called Simply Marbelous would look simply marvelous as a Valentine heart!  Check it out:

Doesn't it actually look like satin?! So pretty!  I used some Flirty Flamingo cardstock to cut out the heart border, and added an open heart panel cut from Basic White cardstock, a cute tag with a glittery bow, and a sentiment from Eden's Garden:

It went on a panel of Basic White embossed with the Falling Petals EF!  So pretty!  I did add some Iridescent sequins for a little more sparkle!  I am also entering this at the Global Design Challenge, where they are looking for Valentine projects!

I hope you'll play along with our grid this week....I always seem to be behind when it comes to Valentine's Day cards, so I'll probably be playing along myself, LOL!  Be sure to enter your creation at the Tic Tac Toe blog, and while you're there, check out what Team X created as well!  Thanks for popping in today!

I had Cassidy for an Inservice Day at school and she wanted to make "galaxy" cupcakes!  We made yellow cupcakes, then she dyed the icing purple (gross) and added gold and blue sprinkles as well as white nonpareils.  I think she knows I don't eat blue (or purple) food, so they were safe!  By the way, it was 20 degrees outside and look how this child is dressed!

I am still picking up white nonpareils from all over my kitchen, LOL!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&S454 Hexagon Bee

Happy midweek, peeps!  My card today uses the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches, created by my friend and teammate, Joanne:

I really love the prints and warm colors of this particular piece of the Heart & Home DSP collection; in fact, both sides of this piece were used for my card.  The print flips to this cool diagonal woodgrain design!

I used my Stamparatus to get a good impression of this sweet sentiment from Free as a Bird, stamped in Memento Black, and I added a little scrap of Pale Papaya left over from panel that was diecut with a Stitched Rectangle die. The slim cut worked perfectly:

I used a retired Hexagon punch to punch out a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and ran it through the Timeworn Type EF, sponged it a little bit and adhered it to a piece of Basic Gray, then trimmed it down to create a little mat,  I fussy-cut a little bee from a scrap of the same DSP, then popped it up on the hexagon:

You can't see it but the bee's wings have a brush of Wink of Stella too...so pretty in real life!  Thanks for popping in today!

I took a walk out in our woods on Sunday and as I went over the little bridge that spans the creek behind our property, I saw these icy designs along the edges:

They look eerie, yet beautiful!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Time for Spinner

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  A certain young man is having a birthday soon and I thought it would be fun to create a spinner card for him!  Here's a little peek of this red-headed charmer:

I haven't made a spinner card for a while, so I looked up a tutorial on the computer (can't remember whose it was, sorry), pulled out a dump truck die and some papers with trucks on it and went to work:

I made the top portion of the card a little sturdier by adhering the DSP to a piece of scrap cardstock, then used a Word Window punch to punch out the slot.  After diecutting the truck parts, I mounted them on a Stitched Shape circle and adhered it to a penny with three glue dots.  I punched out a 3/8" circle of Foam Adhesive sheet to use as the spacer, adhered it to the back of the penny, placed it in the slot, then adhered another penny on the backside to the foam adhesive.  I found that a round piece of foam adhesive made the spinner spin a lot better than a dimensional.  I then used a double layer of dimensionals to adhere the top portion to the card front, making sure I didn't place the dimensionals in the way of the spinner.  I added a sentiment and it was done!

A hint to ensure that your spinner spins nicely is to hold the card upright, not tilted back away from you, and then tilt it from side to side...it spins great as long as the card is in an upright position!  I did include some directions so Sawyer's mom and dad would be sure to know how to make it work!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

CAS in Blue

Happy Monday, peeps!  I gave my blue-hued ink pads a workout yesterday, as I needed two sympathy cards and I found a couple of CAS challenges that fit their bill.  The first uses another one of the masks (stencils) that I've been playing with lately; this time I used the butterfly one:

After stenciling in Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Pacific Point, I added a sentiment from Eden's Garden and some speckles from Color and Contour:

I added a blue rhinestone and mounted everything on a Balmy Blue base.  It fits the bill for the SUO CAS challenge as well as the Krafty Secrets CAS challenge!

My second card uses a Hero Arts stamp that I normally think of as a Christmas image, but I thought it would work well for a wintery sympathy card:

The image was stamped in Misty Moonlight, as was the sentiment from Special Moments:

I popped up the panel on dimensionals and it's ready to go.  It fits the Double D challenge for this week of blue and white winter:

I used the upper left photo as my inspiration!  Thanks to Diane, I am also entering it at Colorful Options  challenge:

Thanks so much for popping in today!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
