PP554 CAS Masculine

Hi there, stampers!  Anne Marie is our hostess this week over at the Paper Players, and it's clean and simple week!  And this one is always a challenge for us gals....her theme is masculine!  They're just not as much fun to stamp for, are they?  But my nephew's birthday is coming up and he always comments on my cards, so it's nice to know they are appreciated!  So here's our prompt:

And here we go:

First, I used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches:

I began by embossing a Very Vanilla card with a Stitched With Whimsy die, then added four cowboy-themed diecuts.  I sponged the hat and added some gold dots on the brim, and stamped a Paper Pumpkin sunshine on the star and added a brown sequin, also sponging it:

The boot was stamped with the coral stamp from A Little Smile Kit and sponged, and the horseshoe was sponged and I added some silver ink dots to it too.  The "hooray" is from YeeHaw, stamped in Cajun Craze and fussy cut:

I stamped a sentiment and some stars from the YeeHaw set on the inside.  You'll notice that I also used the Stitched With Whimsy die on the inside as well; that was because originally it was the OUTSIDE and I made a big smudge, so I covered up the smudge with a star and started all over!  The outside became the inside and hopefully no one will even think to ask why!

I hope you'll play along with our CAS masculine challenge this week!  Check out what the DT did over at the Paper Players blog, then share yours with us too!  You may be chosen as our Headliner!  See you there! Thanks for popping in, enjoy your day and be blessed!

  2. You had a great way of rescuing that piece, LeAnne - why shouldn't the inside be as cute as the outside? Although you wrestled up a mighty fine collection of cowboy goodies, there, little Missy! Yee haw!

  11. LeAnne, I know I keep saying this.... BUT.... you are the most amazingly versatile card maker... you so effortlessly move between styles and this fabulous CAS creation is another example! You bring so much texture and color to this card - and yet it is still CAS and fabulously masculine! I bet he loved this!
