Happy Sunday, peeps! Hope your weekend is going well! Ann is our Paper Players hostess this week with a fun sketch...I was happy to see THREE banners on the sketch because I love things in threes! I needed a birthday card for my BIL, so I decided to use Sailing Home, which is a great masculine set! So here's the sketch:
And here's my card:
I embossed my card front with the Seaside embossing folder and added some banners of Real Red DSP from last year's selection, and stamped a sentiment from Many Mates in Memento Black. I used a sponge brayer for the ocean and a blending brush for the sky. Hopefully he'll like it! I am also entering it at Just Add Ink; they want two out of three: Sky, Sea or Trees, as well as Festive Friday, where I've chosen water, blue and red:

Fab masculine card LeAnne - you've used the perfect EB for the background and who would know you struggle with scenes?! (not my strong point either!)
ReplyDeleteHe'll like it! Good luck in the challenges. Where in NC? It does look like they are having a good time. I want to move to NC so badly but it looks like it'll end up being TN.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job with this scene, LeAnne! Love those red flags and the embossed waves that bring out the colors in the sailboat!
ReplyDeleteOh, LeAnne! You have created a perfect scene! I love the color of water. In fact, with the color palette you used, the entire card has a vintage vibe that I adore. You knocked this one out of the park, and I know you BIL will LOVE it! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI love your card, something about the colors just give it such a clean, fresh feeling, and a perfect card for a guy too. So glad you joined us at Festive Friday!
ReplyDeleteI think you've made a wonderful scene, LeAnne! The movement from the embossed background was a great idea. Your brother-in-law is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful masculine card - I really love the texture of the wavy embossing that creates quite an impact. I seems the waves are mirrored in your paper strips too. Chantell Just Add Ink
ReplyDeleteNot knowing what your 'vision' was for the ocean and sky I think they came out beautifully! I love how it's soft with slight variations in the ink. Great background for that sailboat! I can feel the ocean breezes! Hope you have a nice cool week!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous scene. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean you struggle with scenes? I absolutely think this is a fabulous card, LeAnne! Love the wavy EF and the soft colors too! One of my favorite cards this week! Well done!

ReplyDeleteI think you did a cracking job with the sailboat LeAnne and I love the balance of the sea scene and the bright red banners behind. Along with the white embossed waves this is such a clean, fresh card - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I think you did a marvelous job with the scene. The water reminds me of so many beaches that I have visited where the sand adds a gorgeous light to the sea making it that gorgeous green. the background embossing folder was a touch of genius. A stunning card
