PP549 Amazing Pieced Sunflower

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Time for a new Paper Players challenge, with the amazingly creative Jaydee as our hostess:

I should have gone masculine with these colors, to build up my guy-card stash, but I wanted to play with the Always Fun Challenge of paper piecing (their post is not current, not sure what's up there), so I decided to pull out Celebrate Sunflowers, since I hadn't used it for a while!

This is pretty straight-forward; I just stamped my sunflower on a piece of Sweet Symmetry DSP and diecut it, then added a couple of leaves from last year's In Colors DSP:

I stamped a sentiment from Color and Contour in Just Jade and embossed it with a Stitched With Whimsy die, then layered it on another piece of thee same Sweet Symmetry pattern, added a Just Jade mat and put it all on a Misty Moonlight DSP.  As an afterthought, I added a couple little banners and some sequins!

I haven't quite decided to whom I will send this...I know several pretty amazing people, so we'll just have to see!  I hope you'll play with our pretty In Colors this week...the design team has come up with some AMAZING samples!  Please stop by the Paper Players to check them out, then share yours with us too!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana and Cassidy had a little visitor yesterday; a co-worker of Dana's recently had a baby and brought her over for a visit!  Cassidy was in heaven!  Isn't she a cutie?  Look at all that blond hair!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  5. I almost went with the large sunflower for this challenge - these colours are just perfect for them! I love your DSP paper-pieced one, which anchors that sentiment square perfectly. Love the wonky stitched detail and the banner is the perfect balancing detail. Great card!
