Hello, peeps! Happy Thursday, happy April 1---uh oh, it's April Fool's Day!!! I hope you're all doing well and no one's pulled any tricks on you yet! We have a fun new inspiration at Inspired By; check it out:
Isn't that a fun arrangement? Looks just like a yummy carrot! I chose not to make a card, but I went in a wee bit of a different direction, creating a little candy treat for a certain someone that I know:
I searched the internet and found an easy carrot box pattern and used some really "retired" SU DSP to create my little jelly bean holder! I think this might have actually had Groovy Guava on it...remember that one? Not much stamping, but it was fun to make! Here's a side view:
Before adhering the box together, I diecut an oval and backed it with a piece of acetate so the jelly beans could be seen but wouldn't fall out! The greenery was diecut with the same oval die, layered and adhered to the top, then decorated with a banner and little tag, then tied with some thick baker's twine.
The original directions called for making the box from cardstock, so everything was a little flimsy. To strengthen the area that would be tied together, I adhered another oval of cardstock behind it and it worked like a charm!
Of course, I know the recipient will have it untied and the contents gobbled up in no time flat, so I left the embellishments simple and easy! I am going to save this and think about making some for next Easter as well! Be sure to come and visit all the designers at Inspired By and share your carrot creation with us as well! Thanks so much for visiting today!
Some more Saturday fun, it was such a gorgeous day, we had to be outside! Bradley and Remy played frisbee with Cassidy:
He catches snowballs and eats them too! Funny dog! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
