Hi peeps, happy Friday! I have a card similar to my Inspired By card from yesterday (you can see it here). I don't know about you, but often my cardmaking process is full of stops, starts, detours and crashes! Sometimes I am able to take the casualties from the "accidents" and make a new card, which is what I did today! I had originally stamped the scalloped border of my card in Just Jade, but it seemed too strong of a color for the florals, so I opted for a softer Mint Macaron. But I saved that Just Jade piece, and when I turned the DSP over, this pretty floral appeared! I had an older Artistic Outpost set on my desk, which featured a windmill I had never gotten inky, so I inked it up in Just Jade and here's what turned out:
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, LeAnne! Love the colors and that great windmill image! Great picture of Miss Cassidy, too! TFS and Happy Friday! It's gonna be a hang on to your hat kind of day!
ReplyDeleteWell I would say everything came together just perfectly! Pretty card! My dad is Dutch.....he was born here right after his parents and older siblings arrived from Holland. My grandparents spoke English with a delightful splattering of Dutch words included!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Those colors really are wonderful. Funny, Holland was where I wanted to go as a child also. We are Dutch on my father's side though his family were here since before the Revolutionary war. But tulips and windmills and anything blue and white has always appealed to me. Thanks for the memory today!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is such a gorgeous creation! Every little detail, pattern, ribbon, and color come together seamlessly - as only you SU girls can do!
ReplyDeleteIf Holland appeals, you can always try Holland, Michigan on your way to me! Fingers are crossed for miles each Spring that the tulips will survive, and flourish for the Tulip Festival in May!

Oh goodness, how pretty! What a sunny, cheerful birthday card. I was just talking with someone yesterday about how I had always wanted to visit Holland to see the windmills and fields of tulips! Great minds ;)
ReplyDeleteThis card looks as if you carefully brought out papers and chose the best ones to go together, decided on the jade to stamp the plaid in and found the exact image that would bring everything together! What an amazing cover the Dutch language course book has! Must try to join in. What a lovely photo of Cassidy having puppy cuddles! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card and so perfect for the challenge! The colours go together so beautifully and your use of pattern and colour is really lovely. Thanks for joining The Library.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect combination of stamps, paper and library book!
ReplyDeleteLOL LeAnne, once again we used the same stamp for same challenge! I saw this when I uploaded mine to the Library Challenge. Love your card, you definitely put your scraps to great use here. Your pretty granddaughter has grown up so much! Happy Easter! xoxo
