Happy Saturday, peeps! Hope all is going well for you this weekend! I have a couple cards to share for random challenges!! The first one is for the Inspire.Create challenge:
Aren't these colors pretty? My Paper Players teammate Debbie made this card recently and it inspired me to do something similar with these colors. So here we go:
I used the sketch from Fusion:
and papers from the True Love DSP line. I fussy-cut a flower from one of the patterns and watercolored it with the three challenge colors, then adhered it to a layer of Thick White cardstock and fussy-cut it out:
The vertical banners were cut from snips of Sand & Sea DSP, and the sentiment, embossed in white on Basic Black cardstock, is from Bloom & Grow and diecut with the little banner die from Smooth Sailing. I did color in some random flowers on the background with some Sahara Sand ink, but they are pretty subtle!
The next card is a masculine one, using the mallard duck from Field Journal and a sentiment from Rustic Retreat:
The next card is a masculine one, using the mallard duck from Field Journal and a sentiment from Rustic Retreat:
It uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
My card base is Crumb Cake with layers of woodgrain In Good Taste DSP; I stamped Mr Mallard in Stazon ink, watercolored him and fussy-cut him out:
I did the same for the little wooden sign, adding some sponging on the edge for a vintage look:
I am also entering this at Watercooler Wednesday, where they are looking for masculine cards!
And I'll leave you with these pix of silly Eden....she's probably wishing she could go outside and play in the early morning snowfall:
but the next best thing is taking a nap....with her legs stuck straight out! Who sleeps like that? Silly pup!
Thanks for visiting today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Paper Players challenge too! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
Great job on both of these cards LeAnne. Really like your Mallard...well done. And the Pooch...LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you have received my note...worry about mail these days...really moving slowly.
Love, love, love both of your cards! I have not played with the ingredients for card #1 yet. The design is great and the coloring is fantastic. What a wonderful masculine card. I've used that set but not the duck. Ooh, you're going to keep me busy CASEing this weekend...and you have a fun one, I hope.
ReplyDeleteThis wonderful card #1 brings my mom to mind - you often do that! She would have loved this print - and I do TOO!
ReplyDeleteSuch a handsome duck, and silly dog!

Your talent is on display today - I love your ability to go from pretty and feminine to perfectly masculine. I love them both! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and black combo. Beautifully done. And I've pinned the duck card - always looking for masculine card ideas and this one rocks it!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink flower on the black and white paper! So striking! The mallard is colored beautifully and perfect with the strips of wood look paper. I love how the strips continue under the top piece!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty flowers on your first one and a perfect use of the sketch! I always enjoy seeing those neon green heads on the mallard ducks. How dapper yours looks on your terrific masculine card! Eden... silly pup!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I can't say which card I like more. They are both amazing. You used the colors beautifully in your first card and I love the background you created in the second card. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pair of cards. I'mher for your duck card and love how you used the sketch with the DSP panels and that fab coloured duck. Thanks for joining us at WWC this week. Tristan DT.
ReplyDeleteWonderful take on the sketch - love that DP! and the pink flower really pops. Thanks for playing over at The Fusion Card Challenge.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great set of cards LeAnne! I love that duck and the woodgrain paper! Very masculine! Love it! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteA perfect day! Beautiful cards and a sweet puppy! I spent the afternoon at my SU demonstrators and we used the same True Love dsp- colored and fussy-cut. I hadn't done that before and it's a great look. I love your random Sahara Sand flowers! The masculine card is just wonderful with the woodgrain!
ReplyDeleteTerrific designs! I love the rustic theme for the last one. Thanks for playing along with us at FMS!
ReplyDeletePerfect cards as always LeAnne. I love the flowery card - using a more monochrome paper really made the pretty pink flower pop. I LOL at the sleeping dogs, animals and the ways that they sleep fascinate me. Thanks teamie, for joining us at Fusion this time. Claire xx
ReplyDeleteTwo totally different and fabulous cards! The b/w with the pink is fabulous! And oh that duck! Wonderful woodsy card!
ReplyDeleteI love both of these LeAnne - those black and white papers are fabulous and I love your duck and take on the FMS sketch.
ReplyDeleteThe watercoloured flowers are really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your Mallard duck with the woodgrain. With Father's day coming up I decided to make it for my son in law. His mom is an artist and he appreciates nice art work or even the sweaters I used to make for the grandkids when they were little. Teenagers are a little harder to please.
