Hello again, stampers! Back for a new Inspired By challenge...and this one was a challenge for me! I am more of a subtle color/tiny print kind of person, so this prompt almost had me running for this hills! Here it is, along with our optional sketch:
Wowza! But I told myself I could DO THIS, so here's my attempt:
I've had this Mistletoe & Holly set from Papertrey for years and I'm willing to bet this might be the second time I've inked it up! I pulled out some retired inks in Green Galore and Call Me Clover and stamped the holly leaves on a Whisper White panel:
The darker green showed the detail on the stamp much better than the lighter green; the lighter shade seemed to bleed together. I punched some circles of Real Red, shaded them and added some white gel highlights to create the berries. I found some older Blushing Bride DSP and stamped a sentiment on a broad banner, using a combination of SU and PTI stamps:
It look a little bare so I added a little holly diecut! It all went on a Blushing Bride card base. Although big and bold is not usually my style, I have to admit that these are striking images!
Oooh, I almost forgot....we've got a surprise for you this week...a PRIZE!!!! Check out this fun set! You could be the winner...Merry Christmas to you, right?! Check out all the details at the Inspired By blog! Even more reason to play along! I hope you'll find something to inspire you with our prompt this week!
Thanks for popping in today, enjoy it and be blessed!

You are amazing, you don't even have to be comfortable to knock it out of the park! I would've never guessed you were running, because every detail is so perfect, from the holly to the candy cane striped tag, gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteBright and beautiful holly, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteYou not only thought you could do it...you DID do it! This is marvelous LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteWonderful entry! The contrast between your greens and the larger red berries really pop your design! I also got this set out this fall and made a few cards. Nothing like old stash being used, right?
