Happy Thursday, peeps! Another Tic-Tac-Toe challenge is awaiting us this week, with Joanne as our hostess...here's her grid for you:
I chose the diagonal of Punny Sentiment, Patterned Paper and Embossing, with an extra Masculine thrown in for good measure! Since I've been cataloging all my old stamps, when I came across this one from the 2009 mini catalog called And Many Mower, I knew it would be perfect for Joanne's challenge! So here we go:
I started with a Crumb Cake mat that was embossed with an old metal embossing folder from Papertrey, then added some plaid DSP squares diecut with the Stitched Shapes square die. I stamped the mower in Memento Black, colored it with Blends, then fussy-cut it out and mounted it on a smaller Stitched Shapes square panel on which I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green. I added some Candy dots embellishments and a little Early Espresso banner, then mounted it all on an Early Espresso card:
And on the inside, I added some diecut grass and the corresponding sentiment:
This never fails to crack me up!! We have a friend at church who is in charge of doing all the mowing on the grounds and in the cemetery (just imagine mowing around all those headstones!!!!), so I can't wait for his birthday to come around!
I hope you'll use our grid to create something this week as well, and stop by the Tic-Tac-Toe blog to see what the others on Team X have created!! See you there!

LeAnne, you always amaze me with what you have in your stash. This card is sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Karen! If there were a TV series starring you rummaging around in your stash LeAnne, I would be glued to it! The lawn mower and the plaid are gorgeous but I couldn't work out what the punny sentiment would be... which made the reveal all the funnier! It really is the perfect card for your friend who mows the grounds of your church. It's so lovely to be guest designing alongside my talented TicTacToe pals this week, thanks for having me :)

What can I say - I love a good pun and I'm thrilled you found this fun set as you were rootling around in your stash LeAnne. I'm only glad someone else out there has a vast collection of stamps they can't bear to part with! This is fab, the plaid compliments perfectly - I only wish I could be there to see the look on the face of your church friend when they open it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little mower!! This is the perfect card for your church groundskeeper. The inside sentiment is too much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI love that lawn mower! Cute card! Thanks for sharing. I am curious what cataloging your old stamps sets looks like?!
ReplyDeleteYep we all need to come rummage through your stuff! Cute card....love the plaid with the mower!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this LeAnne! Your cute pun is so perfect and your design is so masculine and fun! You inspired me to participate (even though I missed the deadline by a couple of hours, I love the fun I had creating my puny card, thank you!)
ReplyDeleteHi Leanne,as I'm not very good at thinking up cards for men, I made a beeline straight to your masculine label, and this one was one of my favourites (mower). Could you please let me know the size and measurements of your card? Cheers and thankyou, Marilyn.
