AYSI225 A Sketch for Mother's Day

Happy Friday, peeps!  I am glad the weekend is upon us!  Although all the days are kind of running together, aren't they?  We did get to go out earlier in the week...my military dependent card expired last July!!!  I don't use it very often, so I never even realized it.  The issue was is that the Reserve center is in Delaware, and PA residents are not allowed to travel into DE unless they have quarantined for 14 days.  The person to whom John spoke at the Reserve center said it would be okay, so off we went.....and we didn't have a problem at all, never even saw a police car or anything!  Phew!

So anyway, today we have a new challenge at As You See It, and it's a sketch!  I needed a Mother's Day card for John's stepmom, so it was a perfect opportunity to put it to use:

No photo description available.

This is the time of the year where all the SU demos are scrambling to use up some of the DSP in their stash that will be retiring!  At least I know I am!  My card today features Mosaic Mood:

I seem to have forgotten how to "stamp".....my cards have been using lots of paper and diecuts and very little ink!  I fussy-cut this pretty hummingbird (which has enamel accents, although you can't see them) and mounted on it a couple of layers of the DSP, then added some Mint Macaron ribbon.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings, stamped in Soft Suede, and it just fits in that wee little space, thanks to my Stamparatus!

The two little dots at the top that look like googly eyes are actually Gilded Gems, part of the Ornate Garden bundle....they look a little more realistic in the second picture, LOL!

I hope you'll find some inspiration with our sketch and play along with us!  Check out what the DT created as well at the As You See It blog!

Can you take a couple more dirty little boys...this is all, I promise!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. Oh LeAnn, this card is beautiful! I have loved this DSP since day one but never ordered it! I love that you cut the bird from the paper which helps us to use it up! This is perfect for Mother's Day! Glad you were able to travel to DE to get your card redone! Shawn travels to Newark everyday without any problems but again he is essential. Isn't it crazy how this virus has changed our lives! Anyways, TFS and have a great weekend! :)

  2. I really love this DSP [and should stop hoarding it!!] and I think you know that this little hummingbird makes my heart all aflutter! Some lucky mom is going to love this, LeAnne … almost as much as I love these muddy buddies!

  3. LeAnne, I enjoy all your cards and love your pictures...but must tell the parents of those boys that they are GREAT parents...allowing the boys to enjoy that mud is something they will lovingly remember the rest of their lives.

  4. I didn't order this paper either but got some in a share and I was happy with that. Your card is lovely and John's stepmom should enjoy it. As long as it wasn't your license that expired... Those boys create such a smile for others.

  7. I love this card LeAnne - like you I’ve had much fun cutting up this paper and your card today encouraged me to get it out and create another one with it too, so thanks! I just love those little boys, covered top to toe in mud - that is just what childhood should be about!
