Happy Monday, peeps! I have two cards for you today, and they are both thank you cards to members of our church's praise team! They have been faithful about sharing their music every Sunday morning for our church's live feed, and I felt compelled to tell them how much I appreciate it! (Dana is also on the praise team....she got some homemade cupcakes instead of a card, LOL!) I also have spent some time lately updating the database which lists (almost) all my stamp sets! My long-time stamping friend/demo Shawn told me recently that she also lists all the sentiments that go with the stamps....quite handy if you're looking for something specific! But also quite daunting as I have a LOT of stamps! But anyway, I came across some stamps I totally forgot I had, so I had fun creating with some old friends!
My first card is for the team leader and guitarist; the Less is More challenge is "scribbles, drips or splats"...I just love that description!
I pulled out Fabulous Four, Epic Celebration and Gorgeous Grunge along with Garden Green and Mint Macaron inks to create his card:
This was pretty straightforward to create, the hardest part was cutting out the guitar, LOL!
The second one is for our organist/pianist. She is quite an accomplished musician, and I wanted to create something a little more "organic"!! I stamped a background music stamp in Sahara Sand, then overstamped some images from a long-ago set called Words of Wisdom. The bird and verse are also from the same set:
I used the colors from the Sunday Stamps challenge:
I colored the bird with Crushed Curry and Crumb Cake inks, and the leaves are Granny Apple Green.
I distressed and sponged the edges of the white panel and mounted in on a Lost Lagoon card base and added some Lost Lagoon ribbon. And just for fun, I added some Pineapple Punch DSP; it's not "vintage", but somehow, it seems to complement the yellow in the bird! It felt good to use some of these older stamps! I love my new ones, but I love the old ones too! Thanks for popping in today!
Dana got Cassidy a kit to create her own spin art machine! How cool is that? She followed the directions and only needed a wee bit of help from mom, and it worked!
Check out those directions---yikes!
It's all wired up, batteries in......
And we have art!

Your cards are great and beautiful! Do you use Evernote for your inventory? Spin art...I LOVE it! There used to be an outdoor spin art place connected with a trampoline place in the village where I waitressed back in the day. They had to close because someone wasn't obeying rules and fell off the trampoline and also got paint all over their face. The company was dealing with a lunatic but now it's a common day thing for sue craziness. Have a blessed day and maybe some day you'll come to the confessional and tell us how many stamp sets you have...LOL!
ReplyDeleteAwfully beautiful eye candy to wake up to this morning, LeAnne! I think I hear that lovely bird chirping, too! You are so very kind, my friend - they're gonna love these!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss spin-art? So fun to see Cassidy's!

Fab makes and AWESOME "make art" project

2 wonderful cards LeAnne. Love that guitar with the splatters! I can imagine what a pain it was to cut out the hear - those tuning pegs! The torn paper treatment looks fantastic. Thanks so much for playing with us at Less Is More.
ReplyDeleteFab cards - I love that you are still managing to share music and be part of your church community, even at a distance! I wish I had documented my stamp collection - it would save me a lot of time!! A few of my ladies use Airtable and swear by it, although I've never made time to look into it. Still, if lockdown continues, maybe this will make it up the list! Love Cassidy's spin art - so colourful!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great but I love the masculine one-great design!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - this cute bird is a cool take on our colors! Love your layered elements! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards LeAnne and I'm very impressed with the fussy cutting on that guitar! You have used my favourite little bird on the second card and what a beautiful collage effect. Cassidy never has a dull moment does she! Looking forward to seeing some of her spin art! I have been trying to document my stamps so that all sentiments for a particular occasion are together, and images are in categories. I'm doing it by hand while I still only have a small amount of stamps and then will have to commit to doing them as I get new ones! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job cutting out the guitar! And that bird is so pretty. Two wonderful cards that will bring the recipients joy! Our son had a twirl art thing when he was little. I'll bet Sweet P would love this!
ReplyDeleteA cracking card for the Less is More Challenge. Love the colour choices and the torn edges complement the splats perfectly. And impressive fussy cut skills! Thanks for playing along at LIM.

These are wonderful - lots of S/S/S! And Miss C's project came out great!
ReplyDeleteAwww, adorable bird card, and perfect use of the challenge colors. The collage background adds lots of depth. Thanks for joining Sunday Stamps this week.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are gorgeous! I am so glad to hear about the music at your church! SO wonderful that they can share that talent with others. The sentiment on the bird card is one of my favorite versus! Love the stitched dies and your little bird. Cassidy sure looks like she is having fun! I think I would enjoy that activity, too! It looks like 70's art! GROOVY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, for organizing your stamps----just wow! I need a lesson and hope to do that one day. Come on down and help me!
