Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a very simple card today, although it took me long enough to make, LOL! It's for the Festive Friday Library Worker challenge, as well as the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS challenge:
I chose pencils, yellow and ribbon for my CAS card:
I have had this line of pencils stamp for a long time; I got it at a stamp show, but it was unmounted, and I can't remember the name of the company! I stamped it in Stazon and colored it with a Crushed Curry marker, then diecut it with the largest Stitched Rectangle die:
The typewriter and "hello" are from a Stamplorations set called Vignette: Old Type. The tag is a Simon Says Stamp diecut (Bundle of Stitched Shapes), and I used some gold satin ribbon from SU!
It was all mounted on a Crushed Curry card base. I didn't add a sentiment on the inside yet; I'll do that when I figure out what occasion for which it will be used! Thanks for popping in today!
My birds have been busy at my feeders; these are not the best pictures, but I'll keep working on them!
A male downy woodpecker; I had moved this feeder to another spot, and he was quite upset, so I had to move it back, LOL!
A brown thrasher, hiding under my forsythia; he has yellow eyes, and is quite active shoving aside leaves and sticks to get to the bugs underneath!
The feathers of the goldfinches are brightening up:
A this little chickadee is hard to catch...they fly away quickly!
And this pair of house finches (or purple finches, I can never tell the difference), loves to sit on the tray feeder!
I also have a pair of bluebirds building their nest in our bird box...I keep trying to get a picture of them, but they're skittish too! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
I love it when you post pics of birds, flowers and family! You are a good photographer in my opinion. You're a great card maker too. It really doesn't appear that it was too tough. The pencil stamp is so unusual. Have you ever counted how many stamps you own? Can you count that high...lol?! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI'm always drawn to images like these pencils, LeAnne... thanks for putting it to good [and beautiful] use! Love the addition of yellow.
ReplyDeleteWe just noticed the Goldfinches starting to turn yellow yesterday! Mama and Papa Bluebirds are busy building their nest [Mama is VERY particular about the grasses he brings in, too!] in our box with the camera inside - it's a wireless camera that we watch on our Alexa device, and Tom's phone.

I love everything typewriter + vintage! But also happy to see your birds today.
ReplyDeleteI love the lineup of pencils! Your bird pix are always great.....my birdwatching consists of looking for the first robin of spring....and that's it....lol....haven't seen this year's yet....
ReplyDeleteLove this! Love the vintage look and of course, the challenge makes my librarian's heart sing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love those pencils! They remind me of my late SIL, she collected pencils from everywhere she traveled. Wonderful card. GREAT bird photos too. My hubby just went to the park and brought home oodles of good photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card LeAnne, suitable for male and female alike. I also love monochromatic cards. So excited to see your picture of the Downy Woodpecker! I put out suet for the first time this winter and I have them, too! I thought that was what they were, anyway. You just confirmed it! Happy Easter to you and your family :)
