And here is the prompt that Laurel has provided for us:
Oh my goodness, I just loved this challenge! I rummaged through my DSP scraps old and new to find just the perfect ones to create my "quilt"! (And what a great way this is to use up some of them!!) I diecut each one with the smallest Stitched Shapes square die and then went to work to create a base on which to adhere them! I cut out two Whisper White panels using the largest scalloped rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly dies, trimmed one of them down, then layered it on top of the second one to create a longer one. You can just see where I joined them together, but it's barely noticeable when I layered the quilt squares on top! Just another way to get extra use from your dies!
After piecing my quilt together in a pleasing arrangement, I remembered I had some of this cool Coastal Cabana trim from a few years back, so I layered it under one side, and added a Label Me Bold sentiment, also stamped in Coastal Cabana! It's fun to use some of these bright colors on a dreary day (or dreary week, as we've been having here in PA)!!!
I can't wait to see how our creative participants use this prompt! You don't have to replicate the quilt as I did here, perhaps the colors will influence you, or maybe just the nautical theme! Be sure to share it with us at Inspired By!
Cassidy's french fry holder "invention"!! That girl loves her fries!
What a great challenge. When I saw the photo and your card, the first words out of my mouth were, "Oh, my, goodness!" Then I started reading your post...lol...great minds think alike. I HAVE to enter this challenge!! Cassidy has created a great idea with her holder!
ReplyDeleteGood morning from Arizona! I'm a subscriber of yours and I just love your style! You are an inspiration. I know this comes out of the blue, but how do you store your scraps? Mine are in large baggies separated by color, but always take up so much room. I'd appreciate your response.

How pretty is this?! Your card is totally inspired by Laurel’s photo this week - that patchwork of scraps coordinates beautifully! The colours are really fresh too. I used some of that crinkly ribbon in pink around some hearts this week - always worth hoarding when you get to create something like this!
ReplyDeleteI just knew you'd have JUST the papers for this prompt, LeAnne... I could also imagine how beautifully you'd piece them together - the perfect finishing touch with that ribbon!! WOW is that fantastic!
