Happy Friday, peeps! Wow, I've got a busy weekend coming up, how about you?! This is the last As You See It challenge of the year, we'll be taking a wee little break, but we'll be back in January with some fresh new challenges! To finish the year, we've got a "Fill In The Blank":
My fill-in is "The Birth of Jesus" because it really is what Christmas is all about! I am overwhelmed when I think what the Lord did for us! It really does bring me joy!
I found this paper in my Luke 2 pad by Photoplay and decided to create my card around it! So here we go:
It's hard to see, but my Bethlehem scene is diecut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper; I tore off the backing of the paper before I put it through the SugarPea die, as it is intricate and the thicker paper has a tendency to rip as I try to get it out of the die. It also cuts out a star, and the DSP also had a star, so I just popped it up right on top! I stamped this beautiful sentiment from Scrapbook.com in Early Espresso using my Stamparatus to make sure I got good coverage:
The bottom portion looked a little plain, so I stamped a smaller, narrow sentiment on the same paper and diecut it with a banner die:
It all went on an Early Espresso card with a white mat on the inside for my sentiment!
So, what brings you joy for the holidays? I hope you can find time during your busy schedule to create one more card and share it with us at As You See It! Thanks for popping in today!
Okay, so I have to continue the elf story...and boy, do I feel like a dummy! After several people pointed it out to me, Cassidy was spelling "By The Way" vertically!! It must have been because I was looking at it late at night (yeah, that's it!!!)!!! Anyway, the "elf" wrote back a letter:
I noticed that Elfdon misspelled "rescue" but I guess maybe he didn't get an "A" in spelling class, LOL! And I haven't found out yet what the special gift was! Stay tuned!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Oh my, your Elf comment today just totally cracked me up! My dogs must think I am nuts sitting here laughing! LOL Your card is just beautiful, LeAnne! Love the scene you created and that paper is beautiful! The sentiment is perfect! Love it! Christmas is sometimes a bit hard for me with the family situation but for my hubby & 2 grown kids I really try to make the best of it! Moving on and making new memories with them is what makes me happy! I could honestly do with the gift giving....too commercialized anymore!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, LeAnne! The certainly speaks of the wonderful joy of the season! Elfdon's response is perfect, especially with the misspellings!
ReplyDeleteElfdon pulled out a great save for Cassidy, right? [ps I didn't catch the btw either!]
ReplyDeleteNow. Let's talk about this gorgeous card... oh LeAnne! It has all I love about a Christmas card! The neutral colors of an evening sky, the sparkle, and of course the Town of Bethlehem! Absolutely gorgeous, my friend!
=]
I love this LeAnne - so perfect for the season! I love the stamping onto the background paper and the added sparkle from the glimmer paper is so festive. As for Elfdon - that has happened to our elf too on occasion, although he has not been as creative with his reasons; Charlie is taking notes as we speak!!
ReplyDeleteOH goodness is this ever a PRETTY card! It's what I love about Christmas too. It's not the decorations, parities, presents or food. It's about the birth of our Savior! Too bad about Elfdon's brother LOL!!
ReplyDeleteGreat save with the elf note....lol! And I love the village outline in the glimmer paper!
