Happy Sunday, peeps! Wow, summer is back again...it's been hot this weekend! Hopefully we can cool off looking at my latest Paper Players card! The amazingly-talented Claire came up with a fun new challenge...a tall and skinny sketch!! How fun is that?!
My card is definitely skinny....2 1/2" across and 6" tall!! This little gnome (Fun Stampers Journey) was calling my name, he hadn't been inked up for a while, so I stamped him twice, once in Real Red and again in Smoky Slate, and did a little cutting and pasting:
After coloring in his nose and beard with Blends, I stamped a Real Red heart, some trees in Smoky Slate to create a backdrop, and they were all mounted on a piece of Whisper White cardstock embossed with a Nordic pattern. It's too bad you can't see the Wink of Stella on his beard, it's quite sparkly! A piece of retired SU DSP worked perfectly for my vertical panel!
A couple more images on the inside and a fun Christmas sentiment from Paper Smooches, and my card was done:
And since the Christmas Kickstart Challenge is featuring Scandinavian designs this week, I am entering it there as well!
I hope you'll play with our sketch this week...there is lots of room for creativity, and the tall and skinny feature will challenge you to do something different! Be sure to check out what the Design Team did at the Paper Players blog! See you there!
Talk about a dog just enjoying the day:
I am sure Eden is thinking "Wayne, you've got a nice drink....where's mine?" LOL Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Your little Scadi gnome is just adorable LeAnne - He reminds me of my cute knitted one! I love the fresh red and white design and such a fun tall and skinny card!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your little gnome. He has got to be the cutest one I've ever seen. Your card is a winner in my eyes :-) Eden is quite the girl. The weather has been cooling off here...in the mid 70's when I wake up but it's too dark to go for my walk until around 7:15. We have had nice breezes. Have a blessed Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! He's perfectly Scandi, and handsome in his bright red duds! As I was scrolling to ready your post I was thinking how perfect he would be for the CKS challenge - bingo!
ReplyDeleteAdorable for a tall skinny version!

ReplyDeleteThat little gnome is adorable and I just love the mix of pattern and texture you added. Such a sweet card! Love the pup photo, too. Nothing to see here, just hanging out. Haha! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteI have this odd fascination with gnomes! And I'm always on the hunt for those images so I think I'll have to check this guy out. He looks great on your tall and skinny card. I love the nordic look of this! And I love this weather! I'm not ready for winter so I'll take these summer like days any time! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the patterned papers you used with this adorable gnome! You're making me wish I had created a holiday card with this sketch.
ReplyDeleteHow cute is he!! I like your gray and red combo along with his little frosty pink nose!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, it was warm here for us too! But, it made up for it with a nice cool morning this morning! I LOVE your little Santa gnome and how you tied all the patterns together. What a great little scene you have created. Fabulous take on the sketch. Have a great week
