Happy Friday, stampers! I know I am inundating you with red, green, mint and Christmas, but I just can't help playing with my new goodies and sharing them with you! Today's card uses this FMS sketch, still celebrating their 400th challenge:
I am using the new Cup of Christmas and Cup of Cheer dies again, with some assorted green and red DSPs, Real Red and Call Me Clover cardstocks:
I stamped a sentiment from the same set and diecut it with a Stitched Rectangle die, then added a swirl from the Christmas Cardinal dies, embellished with a couple of little Real Red epoxy dots from last year's Holiday catalog:
Today is a bittersweet day; it's the last day I'll be babysitting Cassidy on a regular basis. She'll be going to a new school next week, and although I'll have her during the summer and on vacation days, I will miss her face in the mornings, getting her on and off the bus, and playing and crafting with her. I have had her since she was a newborn and I appreciate all the love you've given her through the years!! Here she is with her latest creation....she created a holder for her brush and comb (she says she wants to be a hairdresser!) and what you can't see are the pretend paper scissors and razor she created...pretty clever! She was taking this to our minister's house to play with his children...they love to have her "do" their hair!
Here she is, styling Luke and Lydia's hair:
Then she "posed" them, as if they were having their school pictures taken!!! It cracks me up how they just go along with her schemes, LOL!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!
I for one am loving all the red and green LeAnne - you’ve inspired me to get cracking on a few more of my Christmas cards this week and finally break into my preorder box of new goodies too! Your little Christmas mug with its candy cane stirrers is so festive and super cute! As for Miss Cassidy - and so a new chapter begins! What are you going to do with all that extra free time you’ll now have? I’m sure it will feel strange after all this time - her visits now though will be all the more special now that they aren’t daily I’m sure. Love her little hairdressing wallet - so great that she has such a vivid imagination (a couple of willing subjects helps too lol!) Enjoy your precious day today!
ReplyDeleteNot only can Cassidy be a hair stylist, but she can be a freelance photographer! Cute card.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the emotions that you are feeling today. Cassidy has been a delight everyday that you have posted about her. I feel like she has been part of my day also. It has been so much fun following her grow up all these years. She is such a lucky little girl to have such loving and caring grandparents and mother and stepfather. I know that she will continue to grow and blossom into a wonderful person. I look forward to news and updates in the coming years. Thank you so very much for sharing these parts of her life with your followers.
ReplyDeleteWe will all miss your bright adorable Cassidy LeAnne. I know you will miss her terribly. Does she live far from you?
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming, LeAnne! I love these colors any time of year! You've mixed and matched those papers so perfectly... a darling way to say Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThose kids are eating up all the attention Cassidy is giving them, aren't they? Well done, Cassidy... and well done Grammy - you've given her so much love to grown on, my friend!
=]
Another great Christmas card, LeAnne! I know how you will miss starting each day with Cassidy. I remember how we missed our boys when that happened. It makes the other times together even more special. They grow up much too fast!
ReplyDeleteI feel your angst. When the Grand we raised and her Mother moved out...it was hard. My Grand still took the bus to our house and her Mother picked her up after work. Then she just started to go home to do her chores after school and homework done. It was HARD! But, they do have to grow their own wings for their futures. It is hard to let go, but she is 22 now and still loves to come to visit, with the other grand girl (17). We just had 2 weeks with them and I hated to let them leave. LOL! The only problem right now, they are on standby for the next flight out of Charlotte to RI. If they don't get on the next flight, one will and the other leaves later at 7pm. Oi! They had to spend the night at the airport last night. Needless to say, we didn't sleep well at all last night. Had to totally let go and let God on this one! We got about as much as they did...they both will sleep tonight and sleep in tomorrow. Praying. But, we would do it again...will try and get them on earlier flights though!
ReplyDeleteI will miss going out to see what Cassidy is up to each day. I too, have been following your blog since she was a baby and will miss seeing her everyday. I guess the flowers and birds will have to do....lol...I enjoy those too.
ReplyDeleteThank you from Wisconsin. Katie
Love the polka dots and holly paired together with your cute die cuts. This is festive and fabulous! I feel your heartache. My little one will be in advanced pre-school 5 days a week. Cassidy is grammy's girl and always will be. It will make those days you have together even more special. XO
ReplyDeleteGreat card!! I love the candy canes too!
ReplyDeleteCassidy is growing up so fast. I feel bad that you won't have her in the mornings & after school. Things change! How wonderful that you've had all these years with her to encourage her creativity.
What a sad day for you. And we'll all miss the daily pictures of this charming young lady!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the card! It's such a fun mug - and I love the swirl you added! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
