Happy Saturday, peeps! Late today---it's been a lazy kind of day, tons of rain this morning and now it's cleared up so I think I might go out for a walk! But first, a birthday card for my BIL, using the sketch from Fab Friday:
That frame is so cool, and perfect for the Stitched Rectangle dies! I haven't used Country Road too often, so I did some random stamping to make my own background, framed by Early Espresso and Crumb Cake:
I used Sahara Sand for my images, stamping off for lighter images, and I also added a few rustic images from Timeless Textures. Country Road has a lovely birthday sentiment, so I stamped that on the front in Early Espresso too:
Finally, I added a little ribbon embellishment and a Corrugated Element that I punched out with a retired star punch and sponged with some EE ink:
And speaking of country, John has had a critter making itself comfy under one of his sheds, more than likely a groundhog, but he set up a Have-a-Heart trap, and this morning came out to find this:
John was a little confused because he never saw an opossum quite this color; they're usually darker and this one was pretty light-colored. He pretended to be asleep:
John took him back to the woods, opened the cage and "encouraged" him to come out, where he sleepily scampered through the brush!
We've caught groundhogs, squirrels, raccoons, opossums and skunks in our traps....can't wait to see what we get next, LOL! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

When we first set our trap out, we were hoping to catch a very sick feral cat. Instead, we ended up catching our own cat! We never did catch that cat, but we were able to catch and relocate a couple of raccoons and many squirrels. The kids named all the squirrels and I told John that I thought that they made it home from the release point before he did!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great masculine card LeAnne! You make this kind of vintage/collage stamping look effortless - whenever I try it, it looks a hot mess! I’m sure your BIL will appreciate it. A fun find in the trap too - he doesn’t seem in the slightest bothered to be there!
ReplyDeleteYour masculine cards are the best, LeAnne! Love this and how you framed the image. Country Road is on my Wish List and i'm happy that it's carrying over! Love how you added ribbon without it looking like a feminine card, too! Wow, on the catch of the day! Not sure I ever seen an opossum that close. We have 2 nest of baby bunnies this year in our yard. Goodness they are adorable!
ReplyDeleteOoooh my , there ugly, we live in the country in Florida, and we have seen that color, scary,
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely ♥️,
Frenchie
We have 2 opossums on our deck some nights, and they are light colored. We also see a beautiful red fox come through, but many of them have been rabid around here. There is a woman in the hospital who was bit by a rabid one last week...not fun. Of course we also have quite a few squirrels trying to get birdseed out of the bird feeder. Spring has finally sprung!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty LeAnne - I'm just about to get this set - so glad to see more beautiful samples with it! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
ReplyDeleteThis is marvelous, I like the neutrals and those little ribbon tabs! Love all of God's creatures, but some of them sure are ugly!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh my favorite technique......s/s/s......you know I love this! And that poor little possum looks so scared!
