Happy Saturday, peeps! Do you have something fun planned today? I have cleaning planned today! I dislike cleaning but I love a clean house, LOL! Anyway, I wanted to share a card I made for a customer using the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch for this week; not sure it's clean and simple enough for them but I love how it turned out, so that's my story! Here we go with the sketch first:
And here's the card:
I didn't buy a lot of DSP from this year's catalog, and I am striving to use what I have, so I pulled out some of the beautiful Garden Impressions DSP to make my card. I used a sentiment from A Big Thank You, diecut with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelit, and for fun, I stamped the ribbon from Jar of Love in Powder Pink, diecut it with the die from Everyday Jar Framelits, then snipped out a leaf from a scrap of leftover DSP to tuck behind it. I finished it off with a couple of faceted gems in Soft Sea Foam:
The Very Vanilla card was also embossed with the Quilt Top embossing folder and I added a little Melon Mambo scalloped stitched border from the new Be Mine Framelits....I have really gotten a lot of use out of that little die!!
Thanks for popping in today...I had better get off the computer and get to cleaning! Before I go, I wanted to share a photo of my orchid that Dana, Wayne and Cassidy gave me last year for Easter:
I know nothing about orchids...I am more of an African violet fan, but after the initial blooms dropped off last year, I just kept it in the window, watered it with an ice cube a week (that's what the tag said to do, LOL!) and I was rewarded with this a week or so ago. As you can see, we have snow on the ground, so to see these tropical beauties in bloom, with more to come, is quite encouraging! Enjoy your day and be blessed! Be sure to come back tomorrow with my Paper Players challenge card!
Love this 💕, I think it’s the little scallop border edge that is tugging at me! Must go cut me some of that!
ReplyDeleteYour orchid is beautiful. So is your card. I don't think I would have liked it as much without the quilted look. CAS cards are my least favorites and very difficult for me to make. Have a beautiful weekend. We have had to turn on the air again :-(
ReplyDeleteLovely card LeAnne...and an amazing orchid...very different. Looks like you are doing a good job with it. I just received one as a gift. Hope I can keep it going...doing 3 ice cubes a week. My need to repot it . Not much room for ice cubes..Ha!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love the bow. Your orchid is breathtaking. And not much care. Yeah right!!
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet card!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty LeAnne - bravo on using up your papers and not buying more, I wish I showed your restraint! Love he f easy spring colours and embossed panel too.
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot to say what an amazing orchid! I never manage to keep houseplants alive that long, it’s fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThis has a lovely old fashioned to to it, very pretty card! Love seeing those orchids against the snowy background!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! I love the little sprig that you brought to the sentiment to tie it into the background.
