Hello stampers! Sunday means another Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee has a beautiful theme challenge for us all:
True to form, I have two projects to show you; my first one turned into something totally different than I had anticipated, so I started over with another one, LOL! I haven't used my Gift Bag Punch Board in ages and I thought it would be fun to make a gift bag with some DSP, glimmer paper and some diecuts:
I used some sturdy Graphic 45 paper to create the bag, then added my last piece of black glimmer paper on the front. I cut images from Very Vanilla thick cardstock using the Hometown Greetings and retired Sleigh Ride Thinlits, layering them on top of the glimmer paper:
I heat-embossed a sentiment in gold on a stitched tag, and added a gold foil star and some gold ribbon:
And here's the back view of the bag; the gold ribbon and bells complement the front image nicely, I think!
The challenge at TGIF this week is Anything But a Card, so I am entering this there as well!
My second project is a card, sort of a silly one, and I rarely do silly ones, so I feel a little silly sharing it but someone might like it! Here we go:
I used SU's Cat and Santa Hat punches to create my sassy feline, who seems to be waiting for Santa to arrive...or maybe Santa's leaving, and she kept his hat behind just for orneryness! She is looking out a wreath-embellished Small Madison Arched Window onto a snowy sky and a glittery tree
And here's Santa's hat, being twirled on her tail!!
And finally, a tongue-in-cheek sentiment:
Silly as it is, I have just the friend who will appreciate this card!! So thanks for bearing with me! And since the Stamp Ink Paper challenge this week is to use punches, I am going to enter this there as well!
SO......I hope you'll find some inspiration in Jaydee's pretty photo and will share your creation with us at the Paper Players! Meanwhile, check out what all the DT created:
And here's some more holiday fun; the family went out to get their tree over the weekend:
Such a pretty tree! No snow in sight...but maybe next weekend! Thanks for popping in today--enjoy it and be blessed!

Let's go backwards today...what a fantastic looking tree...it's perfect. The silly card...I LOVE it! That is the cutest way you changed the sentiment. For me, it's far from silly...it's perfect. AND the bag...I thought I really liked the way you did the front but when I saw the back...Graphic 45...it's perfect! This is one of my favorite posts. What a way to begin a Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYour gift bag is just gorgeous with that black glimmer paper, and the cat card just gave me a giggle! You've just given me a whole new idea for using that cat punch that I just had to have :) Love the Santa Hat hanging off his tail :)
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I love the cat and Arched window...Well done. Is the Tree SU...love the tree and that you made it white with the bling balls.
ReplyDeleteIt is not silly it is super. I, too, have several friends that would love this...I will be casing this for next year...Hope you don’t mind.
I love the print on that bag! And the cat card is so cute! Fun times at Christmas for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe cat card is adorable! Love it! And your gift bag is stunning! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bag! Sacrificing your last piece of glimmer paper was worth it. Love the scene with the cat and hat.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Miss Cassidy hugging her dog just makes me smile. So sweet! Your projects are fabulous, as always. I just love that elegant bag and of course you know I love that little kitty card. So cute! Personally I like silly cards and this is a good reminder to make them more often. It’s always awesome to hop over to you blog for a double dose of inspiration. I need to step up my game. Haha! Enjoy your day, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI love that bag LeĆnne - that's the sort of bag that the lucky recipient will treasure as much as the gift inside, so luxurious with all 5gat gold, black and sparkle! Your card is just too funny! A cat lover would surely appreciate this!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a cat person but I couldn't help but smile at your sweet cat card. The bag is glorious! Hometown Greetings has become my Christmas staple but I've not made a bag with it yet! That black glimmer paper - totally passed that one by and what an error that was - it looks amazing. Two more fabulous creations, LeAnne.
ReplyDeleteYour gift bag is so elegant LeAnne and your silly little cat is too cute! Festive and fun projects today. Cassidy does love her pup!!
ReplyDeleteGreat bag and card! The cat is so fun...and a very clever idea too!
ReplyDeleteyay for christmas trees!
What a great idea is that gift bag! Love the DSP you used and then the front is just so cute!! Love those dies. The whole thing is just striking!!
ReplyDeleteAll your projects are wonderful LeAnne and I don't think the card for our Pretty punches challenge is silly at all, in fact I find it very clever and cute. What a great combo of punches. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Stamp Ink Paper. Carolyn xx
ReplyDeleteOh that bag is so SOOO gorgeous! I love the layered die cuts on the black glimmer paper it is so striking and mixes beautifully with the patterned paper. Your cat card is quite awesome too! I always love seeing your projects at TGIF. Smiles, Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteLeAnne... LOVE both projects. The gift bag is over the moon... I would just love to deliver my Christmas cookies in something so beautiful. The pic of Cassidy sleeping with her pup is adorable! No tree for me this year... but I do have about 20 poinsettias ready for planting in the front yard. That should make me look festive!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, both your projects are amazing!!! I particularly love the bag! The black glimmer paper is a stroke of genius for the night sky, and I love how you covered the whole front with a beautiful Christmas scene. Thanks for playing with TGIFC this week!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, both your projects are amazing! That gift bag is absolutely gorgeous, especially the beautiful dies cuts, and I LOVE the cat card! It is just so cute and the sentiment is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, your bag is beautiful. What a stunning creation. the black with the white, the glimmer and the layers of die-cut make this a complete and utter work of art. Just gorgeous. As for your cats card..... oh... I LOVE it!!! It is a cat-lovers card and, as a cat lover, is right up my alley!
