Happy Wednesday, everyone! After a few lovely yet chilly days, we are gearing up for MORE rain! Grrr! I guess it could be snow...not quite ready for that yet! I took a break from Halloween cards and made a Christmas card yesterday using the sketch from Sunday Stamps:
That frame was just begging to be filled with some sequins, so here we go:
The papers from Under the Mistletoe are a little too busy for me, but I challenged myself to use them anyway! My card base is Old Olive and the frame is Pear Pizzazz. I also challenged myself to try some embossing with my Stitched Shapes framelits...it's not difficult but it's a bit of a challenge to put the embossing mat on top of the framelit without making it wiggle around! I used the Layering Squares framelits for the inner and outer cuts. I find using Fun Foam and cutting the frame almost exactly the same shape really helps keep those sequins inside!!! I embellished it with a small deer from Dashing Deer:
And I love this sweet little sentiment from Wishing You Well:
My sequins are from Verve...thanks for popping in today!
Dana has been busy making hats, lots of hats! I don't have a picture of the ones she made for Cassidy or Lee, but here is Jackie's:

This is lovely very LeAnne - a riot of festive red and greens, and who can resist a fun shaker? I love the embossed detail on the shaker frame and I think I’m going to try your tip with regard to fun foam too. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute cards, LeAnne! I love your DSP, it really sets off that cue deer. And who doesn't love a shaker card?! That is a great idea to emboss the stitching...gonna try that myself! Everyone should be good and warm with those hats....but weren't they just wearing shorts?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shaker card. I know what you mean about that DSP. I got it out yesterday and had a really difficult time figuring out what to use. My card for tomorrow is a shaker card. I really have a hard time making those. Love the hat Jackie is wearing. Dana does a great job. Hope to see Cassidy with hers.
ReplyDeleteVery nice card, LeAnne! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAww, the hats are very cool and will be much needed as the cooler air is coming! Dana did a fantastic job! Yes, I heard rain too...all weekend long! If all this rain is any indication of what winter is going to be like....we're in trouble! Loved your pretty Christmas card, LeAnne! That paper is pretty busy but it seems you tamed it with that awesome frame and cute little deer! Love it! Enjoy your day while we have sunshine! :)
ReplyDeleteI also have the gotta-have-it-now-what thing with patterned paper, LeAnne! But YOU have persevered, and came out with a gorgeous card![ps I LOVE that poinsettia print... I KNOW!]
ReplyDelete=]
So pretty LeAnne, and a shaker card besides! Go you! I have this stamp set sitting on my desk waiting to be inked up, so thanks for the inspiration. PS I am crocheting hats this month, too!
ReplyDeletePretty shaker card. Love the Dashing Deer. TFS
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the mix of patterns and you were a genius to make a shaker inside the frame! So happy you joined us at Sunday Stamps! XX
ReplyDeleteSuper shaker card LeAnne...never seen one angled like that...great idea. Look at Cassidy being a big sister...
ReplyDeleteAnd fill it perfectly with sequins you did! This is fantastic LeAnne, so festive! CUTE little hat...almost as cute as the little girls!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, LeAnne - love the added shaker element! Those papers are fabulous together, and perfect with the deer elements! Thanks for playing at Sunday Stamps!
ReplyDeleteDelightful shaker card!
ReplyDeleteWow, LeAnn, your reindeer card is so festive dressed in red and green! I love how you made it into a shaker card too! A master piece! Love it. Thanks for playing along at Sunday Stamps! Have a great weekend!
