Hi peeps! Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! It's time for another Paper Players challenge and Joanne is our hostess this week with a clean-and-simple challenge, and it's a fun, seasonal one:
When I saw the CAS(E) the Sketch sketch for this week, I began to form my idea for my card:
That big sentiment reminded me that I haven't used these PTI dies for a long time, and I have never used this cute apple tag die from Lawn Fawn:
I cut the "thankful" die twice, once in Garden Green and another in Whisper White, and layered it so the white layer peeked out a bit from behind the green one, allowing it to show up better against the retired plaid Christmas From Around the World DSP:
The apple die was cut in three colors: Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, and Real Red, then trimmed and glued together. I added some red baker's twine and a little white enamel dot for the apple's "shine":
And there isn't even any stamping on this card!! But I do love this sketch, and you might just see it again! Meanwhile, I hope you'll show us your apple-y creations! Remember, they must be clean and simple.....fewer layers and embellishments will help it meet that requirement! Check out what the designers did:

Annie - on break
Our church had a little harvest party yesterday! The weather was PERFECT, cool and crisp but not so cold that we couldn't enjoy the outdoor activities! The kids "painted" pumpkins with markers:
We went on two hayrides and Cassidy sat with the new pastor and three of his four children:
Even Mommy and Eden went on the hayride!!!
Then we all had hot dogs and s'mores around the campfire!
We also made cider with an apple press, and I'll try to share some pix of that as well! It was a wonderful afternoon!!! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
Perfect plaid DSP for that die and bright red apple! Love it! Looks like the perfect afternoon too!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your card is today with that beautiful plaid. I'm such a sucker for plaids and good apples. Florida is not known for delicious apples or cider! It looks like you had so much fun with your group. Cassidy will become a much-in-demand babysitter in a few years!
ReplyDeleteYour Harvest Party looked like such a fun evening out! Hayrides and Pumpkin painting are such fun and then topped it off with making smores! Glad you & your family had such a nice time. Your card is so pretty, LeAnne! Love the plaid paper and how you created your Thankful diecut! The white cardstock under the green really makes that pop! I also love your stitched apple! Makes for one beautiful Fall card! TFS and stay warm today! A bit of winter is in the air....
ReplyDeletePlaid is my fave, and it looks perfect with the PTI sentiment and cute lil apple! Looks like a good time was had by all! Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteLove the plaid with the apple hanging off that fab diecut sentiment LeAnne - just the kind of card I envisaged for my challenge this week. Yesterday's party looks like a lot of fun - can't wait to see the photos of the apple press too!
ReplyDeleteI like that sweet little apple dangling off your bold sentiment! This is cute LeAnne. Looks like fun times at your festival!
ReplyDeleteYour day out looks like so much fun! Your card is lovely - the plaid is like a lovely warm blanket and the die cut word is amazing. As always, it's how beautifully you've put everything together than really makes the difference.
ReplyDeleteOh that plaid is perfect! Love that big, red apple and the sentiment is fantastic! You rocked this challenge!
ReplyDeleteThe festival looks like a lot of fun! Glad you had perfect weather! XX
I LOVE this, LeAnne! You totally rocked the sketch, love the plaid paper, and the adorable apple hanging from the sentiment is just so clever!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I LOVE this card, LeAnne! I'm such a lover of plaid. And how you hung the apple from the stem is so clever! Anyone would love finding this card in their mailbox!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I love the offset thankful with the white behind, it really does help it pop against that gorgeous dsp. The apple so reminds me of autumn days and picking ripe apples from the tree as a kid. Fabulous card, my friend and thanks for the memory :-)

I’m a fan of no-stamping cards and you hit it out of the park with this one! That plaid is perfect with your apple. I just love that paper! Your harvest party looked like a lot of fun, too. I still can’t believe how “grown-up” Cassidy is.
