Happy Sunday, peeps, and that means it's time for another Paper Players challenge! Sandy is our hostess this week with a fabulous theme challenge:
So when was the last time you stamped with a WHEEL?!!! I'll bet some of the newer stampers have never stamped with a wheel!! I still have several, and I was so happy when I found I still had this "Funky Forest" one! I actually unmounted it from the wheel, put it on some cling-mount foam and made it into a regular stamp before creating my card today:
I stamped the first row of trees in Granny Apple Green on a strip of Very Vanilla, then stamped it again on other strips in Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry and Mango Melody. I cut out a few of them and popped them up on dimensionals and colored in the trunks with an Early Espresso marker:
I added a background of some leafy DSP from a couple of autumns ago, a banner of Granny Apple Green and a little diecut sentiment! Cheerful, happy trees! I know the DT has some lovely creations and you will too!

Annie - off this week
Thursday was Grandparent's Day at Cassidy's school, and we went and had lunch with her. She was very excited to see us, but she is also quite a social butterfly, so she flitted from table to table to chat with her friend!. I seem to remember her mommy's teacher describing Dana the same way!
And you can see she took off her splint to eat her lunch, LOL!
Thanks for popping in today..enjoy it and be blessed!

You've inspired me to get out my box of old wheels and actually use them! I see a decorated envelope in someone's future...
ReplyDeleteWheels - yes I remember those! I always loved this little row of trees and it looks fabulous in these bright colours against the cheery yellow background LeAnne. Love the pop of green banner and the black diecut and border just ties the whole thing together. A great card! Grandparents day looks like fun too!
ReplyDeleteLove this card, LeAnne! I use to love the wheels and only recently took them all off the rolls and placed them on cushion. I figured I might get more use of them but in all honesty, I have not touched them. Thanks for the reminder to get them out & ink them up! Your card is so pretty in these Fall colors! TFS
ReplyDeleteI once saw a wheel being used in perhaps one of the first classes I ever went to but have never seen a catalogue that included them. Very clever to dismount it. At first, I thought you'd used Totally Trees because the trees have that same stylized, slightly retro look to them. I love them! And I love the fresh colours you've used with them. Fantastic card, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun! I never had one of the wheels, but I sure do remember them! I just love all the types of trees you created! The background is perfect to showcase the row of trees. The black just makes the whole thing pop! Grandparents are the best! Greatest role we can ever play! Have a lovely week, My Friend! XX
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I remember using a wheel at a stamp store and then at my first SU party! Those trees are so cute, what a sweet card!
ReplyDeleteAmazing card! So cheerful! It's the darkness I don't care for during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness sakes, here's a fun blast from the past! I still have the coordinating stamp set to this wheel. I loved these fun, funky little trees! I love that you are always combining new and old stuff. It gives me inspiration to go through my oldies!
ReplyDeleteI DO remember the wheels! Then I remember taking the rubber off the wheels to stamp with too..lol! What a great fall card..those trees are such fun images!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous and super fun card, LeAnne! I love the funky trees and the bright colors you used. I also love how you popped some of them up randomly. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable, LeAnne! This is such a fun and cheery card...a day brightener for sure. I had quite the collection of those wheels back in the day. I LOVED them. This was one of my favorites. After seeing your card, I'm excited to see what wheels I have left!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne... WHAT FUN! What a winsome way to bring fall to a card... so love the colors and the feel!
ReplyDeleteI remember “the wheel!” I think I still have a couple somewhere, actually. This is SO cute and I love your idea about giving it new life by unmounting it. So fresh and fun with that happy color combo, too. Love it!
