PP405 Many Blessings

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for another Paper Players challenge and I am the hostess!  I hope people won't groan when they see my choice of colors, LOL!  In my high school yearbook, under my likes, I listed my favorite color as orange!  You can tell that by palette this week:

I love monochromatic tones, and these just looked like happy colors together! I hope they don't scare you away! They could be summery or fall-ish, there are lots of possibilities!

I was thrilled when I got a peek at some of the new goodies in the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog (if you need one, let me know!)!!!  There are some lovely sets for the holidays, but I was really excited when I saw the new Buffalo Check background stamp!  So I went to work with it along with a few other new things:

From the new Wishing You Well set, I stamped the wheat sheaf in So Saffron and the flowers in Mango Melody.  That pretty bow was stamped in Pumpkin Pie and fussy-cut, then popped up with a dimensional. It all was diecut with an oval from the Stitched Framelits dies and matted with a Layering Ovals scallop:

The sentiment is from Many Blessings; it was stamped in Pumpkin pie and it got the same stitched and scalloped treatment:

It was all mounted on a Pumpkin Pie mat that was stamped in matching ink with the Buffalo Check background stamp, then adhered to a Very Vanilla card.  It was pretty simple and easy, really--no embellishments, just stamping and die cutting!  I am looking forward to playing with more of my new goodies tomorrow!  And I hope you'll play with my color challenge as well...I can't wait to see what you create.  Check out ALL the samples at the Paper Players blog!

Cassidy is camping with her daddy so no pictures today, but I do have a couple more cards to share!  There are stories behind them, too!  This one was from my dad:

Now, it's just a store-bought card, but growing up, we had a rooster just like this on our farm.  This rooster HATED me and would chase me around the yard and down the driveway to the bus.  I was petrified of it and of course my younger siblings thought it was hysterical and to this day, still tease me about it.  My dad did not choose the card because of that, but he did remember the rooster!

My next card is extra-special!  My hubby John printed out the front of this card  (and he is computer-challenged!):

and because he got me a new hummingbird feeder, he searched and found a hummingbird, then printed it out with his own little sentiment:

He's so sweet!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. I’m not usually a big fan of orange but I just love your colour choices this week LeAnne! I adore your card too - I picked up both of these sets on my preorder as even though I’m not usually one for background stamps, I figured that buffalo-check was going to be really useful. I adore the harvest bouquet too - it adds a great twist of versatility to this set and that bow looks almost 3D, so clever. Your rooster story made me chuckle - I have visions of you runnng away at high speed lol! And how creative is John - you must be rubbing off on him! I’ve been loving getting a glimpse of your beautiful cards - thank you for sharing!

  3. Groan!!! Not because of the orange, but because I do not have those colors with me. I had an orange kitchen back in the 70's/80's and I loved it. I also love your card. What a sweet card John made for you. Have a blessed Sunday.

  4. LeAnne, I must admit these colors were hard for me at first, but I ended up loving them! Great idea! Your buffalo checked background is perfect for a fall card! I didn't even notice the wheat stamp, but will have to go back and order one. Such a wonderful card with all the layers! You know that made me smile! Now, on to that rooster---we had chickens on our farm growing up and I was terrified of them. LOL! My job was to collect the eggs. I cried every time I went in that hen house. Your John is a keeper! He made the perfect card for you! Have a lovely week, My Friend! XX

  5. I struggle with using orange but I love your card! This set is on my list because of the adorable bow. Very unusual. The Buffalo Check background stamp is great too! I've seen it stamped with colors onto white and colors onto colors. Thanks for sharing!! I still can't pin your creations....must be my old computer.

  6. The checked background is indeed great. It shouts out rustic/country without anything else around it while giving a strong, interesting ground for your more delicate sheaf. That bow looks like a real organza ribbon! A challenging, but pretty, set of colours LeAnne. Thank you.
