Happy Sunday, all! It's time for another Paper Players challenge! Did you notice the latest number of our challenge? #399? That means #400 is coming up next week, so be sure to stay tuned for some fabulous-ness at the Players that week! Anyway, for today's challenge, Laurie has a nice little sketch for us! I wanted to make several cards using this one:
I've got two cards to show you with this sketch; this one is the more stepped-up version! It's for the wedding of a young lady in our church; she's a bit younger than Dana and we have watched her grow up into a beautiful, talented, sweet girl! I know she has blue in her wedding, so I pulled a floral from the Gardens Impression papers, added some layers and some florals from a new-to-me set, Perennial Birthday:
Lots of new goodies used here! The Petal Pink layer was embossed with the Basketweave EF; the So Saffron layer was embossed with the Tufted EF. I heat embossed the florals in white embossing powder and watercolored them in, and stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Night of Navy ink directly on a piece of ribbon:
I stamped a wedding sentiment on the inside as well!
My next card is much cleaner and simpler; I used some background paper my friend Teri gifted me with, and added a sentiment from Perennial Birthday stamped in Gray Granite and diecut with the Stitched Framelits dies. I had some of these glossy dot embellishments still in my stash, so I added a couple for interest:
So, two cards, same layout, different designs! What will you come up with using this fun sketch? Be sure to share your creation with us at the Players this week...can't wait to see what you come up with!
I have no idea how the karate stances are spelled, but this one sounds like "cheeri-up"!! SO cheer-up and have a blessed day!
I really do like the sketch and what you've done with it. I especially like the birthday card. I think Cassidy is going to go far in karate. You have a blessed day too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards you'v made with this sketch LeAnne! I especially love the colors and floral images on your top card. I think that's very clever how you've amde a feminine as well as masculine style for the same sketch! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if Cassidy is getting taller in this photo!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of patterns and texture on your first card! The cleaner version is fun too. Another terrific pair LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of cards! I love all the papers you chose on both.Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove both of these LeAnne! The colours and embossed layers of the first one work beautifully and the arrow pattern on the second one works really well at drawing your eye to the sentiment oval. Way to go with this versatile sketch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic set of cards! I know the bride will cherish this lovely creation! Such a pretty color combo, too! They second one is so clean and graphic! It sure makes the sketch look different. You rocked this challenge, My Friend! Have a great week! XXX
ReplyDeleteFun DSP for two completely different looks! Love both your cards and the colors! Hope you're having a great week ~ Hugs, Annie
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I always love how wildly different 2 sketch cards can be.
ReplyDeleteIf karate is anything like taekwando, this is “attention” which is cha ryuht, pronounced “chai yet!”
LeAnne... such a perfect card for the sketch...as always! Kids love like there are having a fabulous summer...hope you are getting to play as well!
ReplyDeleteA great set of cards LeAnne, and both terrific takes on the sketch. I love the soft embossed floral on the first, and the second makes a great guy card. Cassidy looks so big! And oh so serious, too!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun...two cards with one sketch! And so very different from each other. Love the pretty colors and embossing of the first one. Stamping on ribbon? How clever! Love the colors and simplicity of the second one. It's a black belt sketch for sure!
