Paper Players 391 Tic Tac Toe Wreath

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you're having a good weekend!  It's been a busy one in the Pugliese household, lots of people coming and going, activities, weddings, luncheons, dinners...phew, it's exhausting, but fun seeing family and friends!  Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today with a Tic Tac Toe challenge!  They're always fun:

I have had this little "wreath" poking around on my desk for several days (and I apologize for the photo quality, just couldn't get a good one for some reason); it was made with a couple of dies I was just experimenting with, so I thought I would use it for Joanne's challenge, going down the middle column of diecut, ribbon and circle.  So here we go:

Again, it's pretty CAS because that's just where my brain has been going lately!  I wanted to use a small flower but not one that I would normally choose, so I went for the blossom in Hold on to Hope, stamping it three times in Sweet Sugarplum ink and trimming off the stem after diecutting it:

I had a little scrap of Primrose Petals stitched ribbon that I adhered under the flowers, then mounted it on an embossed panel, added a butterfly diecut from the same set and a few pearls:

I added a Primrose Petals mat and the sentiment from Colorful Seasons, also stamped in Primrose Petals:

I left the inside blank, and I'll add a sentiment when I decide what occasion it's for!  And since this card is pink, has flowers, and has pearls, I am entering it in the TGIF157 challenge, which is also a Tic-Tac-Toe:

So happy you popped in today!  I hope you'll visit the Paper Players blog to see what the others created, and play Tic Tac Toe with us as well!!

We visited Cassidy's school last week for Curriculum Night, which means each second-grade classroom shares an activity related to the topic about which they are learning.  Currently, they're learning about Native Americans and how the western US was settled.  She played a game on the floor, taking her on the Oregon Trail:

Made a wampum bead bracelet:

Panned for gold:

And piloted a keel ship!

We were very impressed with how detailed the projects were, and these were only a few of them!  Hands-on learning!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

  1. Great pics of 2nd grade education...looked like a lot of fun. LeAnne, you do such a beautiful job on CAS cards. That is my weakest point...along with getting things straight! I CASEd your cross card yesterday. I love that TIEF. We are off to the cancer center and have to attend church online. Thank God for technology! We are blessed and you are a blessing!

  5. LeAnne, only you could have incorporated that wonderful ribbon element into the wreath - it works perfectly. I love the dotted embossed background with the stitched round wreath. Fabulous card

  9. Using the circles to make a wreath works really well, LeAnne. I like the contrast of the white with the pinks but my favourite is the sweet butterfly. Not only gorgeous in her own right but balances the cluster of flowers and just makes the design sing.

  10. What a clever use of circles LeAnne to make a wreath - love it paired with the polka dot embossing to carry through the circular theme. The pretty pink accents and little ribbon piece are just the perfect finishing touches. Your card is so fresh and a great tictactoe solution for this week's challenge!

  13. Hi LeAnne,

Oh I am so totally going to try this wreath idea - I have the dies to do it! You’ve inspired me. Love the soft little touches and the pink accent edges.

Isn’t it special to be around young people and know what they are learning. I’m afraid my grand babies are just a bit too young, tho the 2 year old is in a Montessori and they learn early! Thanks for sharing!
