Hi peeps! Happy Sunday to you! If you live along the east coast, I hope you've survived this crazy weather we've been having! I was happy to see Jaydee's Paper Players challenge today, because it gives me hope that spring might really arrive some time soon:
I was tempted to follow those red tulips, but I just got some beautiful papers from Polkadoodles (can you tell I went on a little shopping spree recently?!) called Eleganza, and these pretty florals were just so springy, I had to use them! The Freshly Made Sketches from Jen Timko sketch helped me out too!
So here we go:
This is another card where the papers do most of the work! I made this a side-fold card, which I rarely do, but I already had a piece of cardstock cut and scored that way, so I went with it! I cut all the panels from the DSP, and stamped a sweet sentiment from Close To My Heart on the horizontal panel with Smoky Slate ink. The banner looked a little bare, so I added a couple of butterflies, one from some retired printed SU vellum and the other from the same DSP, and then added a few Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper swirly things:
I stamped the inside with a sentiment from the same CTMH heart, and added a fussy-cut flower from the DSP:
Really easy and pretty! I hope you'll play along with our spring challenge...so many ways to interpret the prompt! Share yours with us at the PP blog and check out what the DT did as well:
Here are a couple pix of what this crazy storm did to one of our trees lining the driveway. The wind was unbelievable, it blew steadily all day Friday and Saturday, with rain and snow interspersed! I am hoping that this means the end of March will be like a lamb, because it certainly came in like a lion! In the big scope of things, this is a relatively small branch, it could have been much worse!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Mercy...you have a long driveway! ... and a beautiful card. That paper is gorgeous, I can see why you purchased it. You have a blessed day as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Leanne! Glad you had no damage from the storm. We have no damage or trees down, but lost power. They say our power will be restored next Thursday. Ugh... Thank God (literally) that our 10-year old generator still works. We have heat, tv and 2 outlets in the family room for keeping our phones charged and a lamp. Rick runs the generator 1 hour on, 2 hours off. We're grateful the daytime temps are above freezing.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy to do a Spring card!
Love the soft pastels of your pretty flowers LeAnne! The layered butterfly over the sentiment strip adds lovely dimension! We got heavy rain and strong winds - lots of flooding along the coast (we are a couple of miles from the ocean so that did not affect us although a parking lot of a strip mall near us along the Saugus River got flooded when the high tide came in) Lots of trees down along with small branches and litter blown all over the streets! and snow coming this week! Your spring card gives me hope that warmer weather is coming!
ReplyDeleteThose papers are really gorgeous, and I love how you used them for your card. Spring has to come sooner or later...lets hope sooner! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card LeAnne! I love that you aded the little flourish and layered butterflies to the banner. They add so much! SO happy you had minimal damage. This storm was a whopper for many folks who are still without power. I agree with you. Hope March ends on a calm note!!
ReplyDeleteHow perfect to use this sketch to show off that lovely paper! Then the soft pink paper for the sentiment and the sweet butterfly are perfect accents. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paper and then some! We lost a while row of bushes next to our house because 18 inches of heavy snow bent them over and broke them!😔
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful paper, it makes a fabulous take on the sketch! Love those soft colors. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
