Hi peeps! It's Sunday and that means another Paper Players challenge; this week Joanne is our hostess with a clean and simple Love Notes challenge:
There has been some chatter on a few blogs that I frequent about using older stamps....pros and cons! I admit to keeping LOTS of older stamps while trying to keep up with new styles, and it's tough! But I reached into the vault and dusted off this cute silhouette stamp...I don't even know the name of the set, as I got this at a yard sale a few years back....of a sweet little girl and her puppy, posting a love note, and I thought it would be perfect for the clean and simple challenge Joanne chose:
Since I don't have my Stamparatus yet, I used my Misti to ink up the image in Basic Black, stamping a few times to get a good image, then diecut it with a stitched square die from Lil'Inker:
The sentiment is from another oldie set, PS: I Love You (one of my all-time favs) and it was stamped on a tag diecut with a die from Pretty Pink Posh, and embellished with an enamel heart, and finally some black and white gingham:
On the inside, I used sentiments from this month's Paper Pumpkin, stamped in Real Red and Smoky Slate:
I hope you play along! There are lots of great samples created by the design team; be sure to check them out:
Friday was Eagles spirit day, and Cassidy resorted to wearing one of Wayne's shirts and hat to school since she doesn't have any Eagle apparel of her own!
Tonight will be the deciding factor; if they win, they go to the Super Bowl! If not, they still had an awesome season...and I don't even really care about football, but I've at least got to support my local team!!! Have a good day and be blessed!
It'll be a fun game tonight! Cassidy looks so cute in her 3/4 length sleeves and the way she has the bottom knotted. It will be a football day all day and night in our house so I'll probably have some time to make a card for PP. Yours is sweet and I hear you about the old vs. new. I am giving away all my punches that aren't SU and I hope I don't end up regretting it. However, I haven't used them in a year so I think I'm safe! They will go to a college girl's dorm room :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that stamp is from the Thankful Thoughts set.
ReplyDeleteBlack, white and red - I don't think that ever gets old. With that sweet silhouette and the gingham, there's quite a retro feel to this card and it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet, LeAnne! I love that silhouette and the gingham ribbon with that DSP looks fantastic! Such a great card for the theme. Cassidy looks so cute in her outfit...a real fan!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell I love this sweet girl and her dog....no matter how old they are! Adorable card!
ReplyDeleteI remember this stamp set! It was in one of the occasions catalogs, and it's such a gorgeous silhouette. Perfect for the 'love note' theme. I say use the retired stamps, as they retire way too quickly!
ReplyDeleteThat's a sweet silhouette and I like the sentiment on the tag! This is such a sweet card. Cassidy looks cute...congrats to the Eagles!!
ReplyDeleteOld versus new - I feel you on this one, I have so many retired stamps that I rarely use but can't bear to part with! This especially applies to Christmas stamps (I've never got rid of a single one!); I've been trying to keep up with my Christmas card a week and use a mix of old and new, so that they feel a little more love. As for today's card - your retro stamp is just perfect for my challenge this week. I love the balance of red, black and white on your card and the sentiment tag is spot - the perfect love note. Great job this week!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love the little heart background!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I am ALL for using stamps that you love. I have so many retired sets, but I just won't part with them.
ReplyDeleteI love this little girl and her puppy! Just perfect for the challenge! Red, White and Black cards always pop out of the gallery! The sweet gingham bow is so sweet. I cheered for your Eagles! Let's hope they can win it all! I hope you are having a great week! XX
Black, White & Red is my all time fave combo and I love that silhouette stamp. Such a cute card! And, my team didn't make the playoffs but the Eagles have my vote! Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet card! Like the black and red together and the polka dots are so happy.
ReplyDeleteI love this silhouette stamp... and what you did with it! Great card! Cassidy is adorable... love the pics and trials and tribulations with Eden.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, you always manage to find the most gorgeous vintage-feel stamps and then turn them into a wonderful clean and simple card. Fabulous. Oh... and how fabulous does Cassidy look in her jersey and boy, oh, boy... is she growing fast!
ReplyDeletehugs
