Happy Sunday, peeps! I feel like I have been neglecting my blog friends, not visiting and commenting, so I apologize for that! The sun finally came out yesterday and cheered me up a bit, although it was like going out in a Kansas tornado, the wind was so strong! But January is like that! Anyhoo, Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess this week and look at the colors that blew in from that crazy wind:
Love them together! I chose white as my "other color", and I didn't even realize that I used the same Eastern Palace Specialty DSP for my card today as last week's card!!! But it worked, that's all I can say! I have gotten a slow start on my Christmas cards for this year, so I took the opportunity to make one using some Pretty Pines dies:
I cut out a sprig from each of the challenge colors and mounted them on a panel of Whisper White, adding a Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper bow and some rhinestones for a little extra shine! The sentiment from Christmas Pines was stamped in Tranquil Tide; I cut the sentiment apart, which is simple to do since it's photopolymer, which made it easier to line up on two lines. Here's a little better view of my "greenery":
On the inside I added a simple sentiment from Hearts Come Home (which was carried over, so you can still get it!) and some pine branches from Christmas Pines!
And since I have three sprigs of greenery, I am entering my card in the Jingle Belles challenge of "We Three Kings"....to have three of something on your card!
I hope you'll play with us this at the Players week..the DT has come up with some incredible samples for your inspiration!! Check them out at the Paper Players blog or right here:
I don't have any recent pix of Cassidy, but I thought I would share a couple things she "created" over the last few weeks! One was a pew card she filled in one morning while in church (Mommy helped her), which I thought was really cute and heart-warming:
It may be a little hard to read, but she is thanking God for us being alive, and she checked off ALL the boxes on the request card! On the other side, she felt she had the gift of doing the offering....which I could actually see her doing some day, LOL! She could follow in Wayne and Grampy's footsteps, as they regularly take offering! The other picture....totally the other side of the spectrum, was drawn on an offering envelope...is of a pig! Who can figure what is in children's minds, right?! I love the little tail!
Thanks for popping by today and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week!!! Stay warm! :)
So precious....all that Cassidy checked off and her prayer...be sure to keep this....and her pig...good job love how she labeled. Ham and Bacon...she is adorable LeAnne. Nice color combo on your clean and simple card...nice...
ReplyDelete"Train up a child in the way he should go" you are certainly following! Kids have such simple, pure and precious faith, we should all follow their example.
ReplyDeleteI love the sprigs for these colors...that was a great idea..makes such a pretty Christmas card!
With all that thinking and praying, she probably worked up an appetite! Those items are to be treasured. So now I know we both attend Presbyterian churches :-) Your card is delightful. I wonder what people think when they receive non-traditional Christmas cards from us?
ReplyDeleteYou know how I love non traditional colors and these are perfect! Love the greenery in all these lovely shades of green and what I great tip about cutting the photopolymer stamps—I never thought to do that even though I have with red rubber! Lovely card my friend...stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI can't even think about Christmas cards, let alone make one just yet! I do love those sprigs tied together wth the shiny bow. It's so fresh looking.
ReplyDeleteOK... I'll get to the card in a minute... I have to smile at both of the Cassidy shares today... how wonderful that she thanked God for us being alive - that really made me smile. And that pig.... well... the only thing my mother would have added was Trotters (could she loved eating them. GROSS!)
ReplyDeleteNow... on to your card. I love the white background for the focal elements and the addition of the gems - they really add a little touch of wonderful bling - and pair beautifully with the polka dot paper.
Fabulous card.
hugs
jaydee
Oh this is cute! I like the way you've used the colors and those pretty little sprigs. Cassidy is just the sweetest little girl, these are so special. Now about this pig...yep the tail is cute, but I must say I like where she placed the nostrils on the snout!! She must watch Peppa Pig ~ snort, snort!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used those colors for your fabulous holiday mistletoe ... so glad you joined us creating with trios at Jingle Belles.
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I love a Christmas card in non-traditional colors and this one is awesome! Love the little sprigs. Love Cassidy's pig drawing, too! So adorable!
ReplyDeleteok, see, your xmas card is amazingly lovely and i had many complimentary things to say about its cleverness & beauty. (& also how happy i am to have you playing along with us at JINGLE BELLES!) ♥
ReplyDeletebut then... you put all of that just above miss cassidy's awesome letter to god AND a beautiful drawing of a pig WITH what i think are some pretty accurate butcher's cuts!!!!!!!!!! honestly, if you want attention for your GORGEOUS work, you have to start a separate blog for the amazing little miss who is ♥CASSIDY♥!!!
This is so fun! I love these colors for a Christmas card! Those little sprigs are just perfect! Great idea! Cassidy is such a sweetheart! I love her pig and I know she is so talented just like her Grammy! She has a lot to give! Hope you are staying warm, My Friend! XX
ReplyDeleteI love the fresh, vibrant and modern feel of your Christmas card. I've been trying to keep making Chrismas cards too - might have to case this one for my collection!
