Hi everyone! It's Wednesday, the middle of the week! Yippee! I needed a special birthday card for a crafty friend, and I thought I would play around with the Christmas Quilt set since there are just so many possibilities with this set and I have barely scratched the surface with them!
I liked the colors and print in this Painted Autumn DSP but I thought it might be a bit busy with the quilt triangle; I tried it and it wasn't too bad! I stamped four triangles with Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango and Soft Sky inks, then cut them out with the matching die. I "sewed" them together with more triangles of Very Vanilla, this time using the "stitched" portion of the die set. I just love how this looks! To make things a bit easier, I used a piece of scrap paper on which to adhere my triangles first, it just made it easier to trim the edges when centering it on my card.
But the best part was creating that little "spool" of thread and that darling needle!!! Oh, I just couldn't believe how cute it was, diecut from some silver foil:
I put them all together with the sentiment from the set, added a birthday wish on the inside, and it was done! Maybe I should have actually threaded some floss through the needle! I'll do that next time! I can't wait to play with this set some more!
Taking Cassidy shopping with us is always an adventure, especially if you're in a tile and marble showroom, and there is a giant marble bathtub in the waiting room right inside the front door:
This wasn't on our list for the remodeling project, but it would be fun to take a bath in it!!!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

This is sew perfect, Lynn, especially for a crafty friend! Love the strip of triangles across the front and the colors are gorgeous! You're right the needle and thread are adorable! At least there was some entertainment for Cassidy while you shopped!
ReplyDeleteYour quilted card [and that adorable little floss-card] has been expertly stitched! Really gorgeous, LeAnne... LOve the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see them create that tub... but can you imagine the waste?

I have decided I have too many stamp sets and dies. When I first got this set, I made 3 cards, cut out all the dies and adhered them to black cardstock so I could see all the variations. Then I put it aside and forgot about it! Your card makes me want to get it out again and play...but where do we find the time to use all our sets??? Cassidy is so cute in that beautiful tub!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun modern and graphic card! Terrific colors too, love it! That is a fun tub. Can't you just picture it full of bubbles!!
