Happy Sunday, peeps! I can say "peeps" today because our Paper Players challenge from Jaydee is about "Feathered Friends"! Check it out:
It's a clean and simple challenge as well, so I took advantage of this nice sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:!
While I was checking out all the new DSPs from the catalog, this particular pattern in the Delightful Daisy series took my breath away! SO pretty:
I used a section of it as my main panel, added a Powder Pink mat, and diecut a little bird from the Birds and Blooms thinlets. Can you see him down there in the corner, perched on a petal of the daisy?:
My card uses the new thick Very Vanilla cardstock....very nice, it makes such a great base! To create the bird, I took a scrap of watercolor paper, wet it liberally and added some Tranquil Tide ink to the wet paper, then dried it quickly with my heat tool. I love how the darker portion ended up under his eye:
For my "hello", I masked a portion of sentiment from Better Together and stamped it in Smoky Slate on another scrap of watercolor paper and diecut it with the Stitched Shapes smallest circle. Sometimes I struggle with CAS cards but this one flowed together so well, it was a joy! And I just love my birds, so it was a double joy!
I hope you'll play with our challenge this week too! The DT has some fun cards for you to peruse! Check them out:
And speaking of joy, you can't get any better than this:
Nothing like playing in the creek on a hot almost-summer day! Enjoy YOUR day and be blessed!

What a cute card LeAnne! Love that little green birdie although must confess I almost missed him at first glance - that paper is just fabulous! A neat trick for the sentiment too. Beautifully CAS. As forCassidy - that looks so much fun and the perfect way to cool down on a warm day!
ReplyDeleteI adore that little bird and the 'hello' in the circle caught my eye at once! Very well done!! Love that card!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely CAS. That DSP is the bomb! I am very limited as to what I can make while we are on this trip, but I did bring my die cut birds so maybe I'll give it a go this morning. Cassidy looks quite happy!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, LeAnne! Gotta love the new dsp and your beautiful diecut bird! Great take on the challenge today! It has been great weather for playing in the creek! Hope Miss Cassidy has a fun summer vacation! TFS and have yourself a nice day! :)
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I can totally see the joy on their faces playing in the creek! It was so hot our way on Wednesday that I caught the UPS guy running through our sprinklers to get cool. At first I thought it was a mistake and saw him come back for a second round!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning. I hadn't seen this DSP, I think I need to go check it out. I love how your bird blends into the background and yet is still separate.
You rocked the challenge this week
hugs
