Happy Card and More Happy Mail

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!  It's gray and gloomy here this weekend, so I thought I would share a happy, cheerful card I made recently to say "thank you" to a customer!  I had never used this particular pattern of the Festive Birthday DSP...it was a wee bit too busy for me....but I thought it would be fun to pair it with the flowers from Basket Bunch as well as the retiring Friendly Wishes!  So here we go:

The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo and diecut with an oval stitched die; then I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Delightful Dijon, then lightly sponged each one so as not to overpower the outline:

I thought they worked with the floral background pretty nicely!  It sure made me happy! And I had to chuckle when I saw my German friend Claudia's blog yesterday!  Check out her card here!  Great minds think alike!

Here are a few more cards that made me happy as well!  This is from Claudia:

And two cards from my upline Pennie:

And finally, some REAL happy flowers from a recent jaunt to Longwood Gardens:

Aren't they gorgeous?!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for the next Paper Players challenge!

  2. My favorite, bright colors! This would make anyone feel happy. Love the flowers you "picked" to use with that big 'ole sentiment too. Perfect to showcase them on that pretty DSP! Those yellow flowers at Longwood look like they'd go well with your card too!

  3. I totally agree about the busyness...I will use that DSP this afternoon to help get rid of it...lol. However, it IS totally great for a gloomy day like today! We had a couple of sprinkles BUT we are in need of much rain. We are thankful there have been no fires near us. Naples is about 45 min. from us and we got whiffs of smoke yesterday. Today was the memorial service for my best friend in Florida and my best customer for SU...next to me! I was blessed to have known her for 17 years. She has been where she has wanted to be for two weeks now so today brought back the grief mixed with joy all over again. Your card has cheered me up and spurred me on to make a card...she would want that!
