Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge for this week and I have a set of "three" elements for challenge #333! Here ya go:
I just received the new package of glimmer papers available as a Sale-a-bration benefit...sooooo pretty! I just had to use them ALL on my card today.....just a little hint of them so as not to blind you with the shimmer! I did originally use a scallop die to cut them out but decided it was a bit much, so I just cut them down and used them as plain mats with the images from A Day at the Beach:
Each image was inked with Versamark, then inked again using the ink colors to match the glimmer paper (Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay), then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder. That allowed me to watercolor each image without the image itself bleeding:
I added a simple little fun sentiment from Silhouettes and Script as well as some white enamel dots! And since I had this fun scallop frame left behind when I re-cut my Sweet Sugarplum mat, I decided to use it for the inside...it fit the sentiment from Suite Sayings perfectly!
I hope you'll play along with our Paper Players challenge this week...I have to admit that the DT outdid themselves! You can see them all at the PP blog!
Doesn't everyone put a puzzle together on the driveway?
Enjoy your day and be blessed!

ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is a great sketch! Your card makes me smile! YES--let's head to the beach! I sure could use a few days of walking the beach. Instead, I am head to IN! LOL! Love the glimmer paper. Cassidy looks deep in thought. Such a pretty girl! Have a wonderful week, My Friend! XX
ReplyDeleteI almost used this set too - the perfect choice for your sketch, which I love - so many creative possibilities! I am expecting some glimmer paper to arrive this week - looks fab on your card, can't wait to get my hands on it. Great job this week LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love the summer theme of your card...and now I can't wait to get out some flipflops. This set worked perfect for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteOf course everyone puts puzzles together on the driveway:) So cute!
What a clever way to watercolor these images--I never would have though to do that! Such a fun way to feature these gorgeous glimmer papers. This is a fantastic sketch, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI'll not be pulling out the flip-flops yet, LeAnne ... but I do like the way you think! Sweet card, fab sketch!
ReplyDeleteCassidy playing in the drive reminds me of my life as youngest of nine, when Mom would say 'go outside - I don't care what you do, just GO!" I kinda get it now ... xx

This is sweet, LeAnne. Wonderful color choice for the summer card. Those glittery underlays are a great way to add some shine.
ReplyDeleteOh to put on flip flops again...can't wait!! Cute bday card LeAnne. I wish more kids would go outside to play or even do a puzzle in the driveway!
ReplyDeleteYour card is making me want to go to the beach! I love the colors and the striped DSP with those three cute stamps. It's an adorable card, LeAnne!
ReplyDeleteYou know I didn't put together that this was challenge 333 and your sketch was of three elements until you mentioned it, I guess it just seemed natural! Love the sketch, had so many ideas, and love what you did with it. The beachy colors and theme make me think of a day on Fire Island!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love the summery feel to your card and the colours are bang on!
