Hi peeps! I had very little stamping time yesterday and never got to sit at my craft desk until after 9pm....and my mojo is suffering! I liked this sweet little sketch from Fab Friday:
and tried to think of something creative to fit into that circle, but I think my brain was too tired! I opted for a simple flower from Avant Garden, because I haven't used it much.... I had a little piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock already on my desk, so I used that as a starting point:
Pretty straightforward; I did a little masking of the florals so the leaves would look nice behind them; I added a banner of Birthday Bouquet DSp, which you can barely see, as well as a banner of Sweet Sugarplum stamped with the dots from Perfectly Wrapped and embellished with some Urban Underground washi tape. I also added some silver wire and a piece of baker's twine from a past Paper Pumpkin kit:
It's always nice to have these little notecards on hand! Thanks for popping by!
It was a WEE bit warmer than usual a couple of days ago (I think it was probably about 45 degrees outside); Cassidy had pajama day at school and she was SO HOT (she said) that she went outside to practice her jump roping in SANDALS.........
After which she had a picnic snack on the patio. I finally made her come inside and put on some socks!
And I think we're supposed to get snow tomorrow!!! Crazy weather! Enjoy your day!

I feel you LeAnne - my mojo took a total wander during January, but I think I'm getting back on track now, so there's hope! Now I love today's card - the masked flowers are so pretty and a lovely way to highlight this popular set. For me though, the inspiration believe it or not is in the dsp; this is the only paper I have completely uncut as I really couldn't see how to use it - you're card however has got me thinking, both in terms of stamp set and colour combo so maybe there's hope for me yet! Your pretty flowers and bow and banner detail really break it up. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and I think you got your mojo back. I wear sandals all winter :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a darling card! I think those lilies are just the perfect thing to put in the center of that circle. As for your little girl - jump roping in sandals?! haha - I would fall and break my ankle! She's got some talent!
ReplyDeleteOh my, isn't it funny the things kids do?! Kelsey use to be the same way! So glad you were able to get out the Avant Garden stamp set and play! Love this single flower and how you used it with the Stitched Dies! They have become a favorite of mine! This is done in pretty colors as well! Our weather is going to get crazy tonight/tomorrow with snow coming and I am not feelin it! It's been feeling like spring and my daffodils are starting to pop up! Say this isn't so?!
ReplyDeleteTotally cute card - I love your washi and silver thread details - just the right added touch! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
ReplyDeleteI see no signs of Mojo problems, LeAnne! This is beautiful! LOve seeing Cassidy taking advantage of the weather ... I might be shoveling soon is what you're telling me? Ugh ... I'd rather jump rope in my pjs...
ReplyDelete=]
What pretty colors Leanne! This is marvelous with no signs of missing or lacking mojo! I want to get my sandals and flip flops back out too. But with 60 one day, 36 the next and snow coming down as I type it doesn't seem like a good idea!
ReplyDeleteLovely card, LeAnne!!! Your masked flowers look delightful with the leaves. Love the combo of patterned papers you used! Stay warm, safe and dry tomorrow!! I'm glad my office is closed so I don't have to worry about going anywhere. Hoping to get crafty time in as my mojo has finally returned after going on an around-the-world cruise since it was gone for so long! :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what antics Cassidy is up to next;)
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty. It has an overall soft look to it with the grays and pinks. Nice masking of the flowers and leaves.
If this is what you do when your mojo is down, then you have nothing to worry about! I love the contrast between the fresh spring colours in the flowers and the soft grey, almost snowy, background. I've had that Avant Garden set sitting in my workspace for over a month now and have not inked it up, yet this lovely creation has me thinking of ways to use it! As always, LeAnn, lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI wish my cards looked this great when I didn't have mojo! :) This is lovely and the color combo is just perfect. Your masking is perfect to show off those flowers. Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday
ReplyDeletePretty! That DSP is perfect to go with a flowers! Thanks for playing at Fab Friday!
