Happy Wednesday, everyone! I haven't played with the CASology challenge for a long time....but the "candle" cue fit in with a birthday card that I needed to make!
I have to admit, this is the third attempt at making a CAS card with a candle on it! I might show you one of the other ones....I think the third one just might go in the trash! But anyway, here we go with the keeper....or the one to be sent, as it were:
I don't have too many candle stamps, but I did find one in the Sprinkles of Life set, and stamped it randomly in white on some chalkboard paper. I added a couple of flower images from a Paper Pumpkin set and cut it all out with a Stitched Shapes circle:
I embossed a sentiment (same Paper Pumpkin set) in white on Melon Mambo, cut it into a banner, added some sequins (these are really pink, trust me!) and mounted it on a heavy white card base. I am also submitting this to the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge for this week; even though it's a Christmas scene, I am going for the chalkboard and pink!
Cassidy did some stamping for fun recently using the Snow Place set and my retired markers!
I love that she throws tradition out the window when she uses color....in her world, a Santa hat can be red and yellow and a candy cane red, white and navy blue (her favorite color, btw!):
Enjoy your day!
Love that birthday card, LeAnne! The chalkboard panel is adorable stamped with the candles and small flowers but I especially love the sentiment panel! That color just pops against the black chalkboard! Well done! Cassidy could not have picked a better stamp set to play with then Snow Friends! I haven't used mine much but today it's coming out to play and make candy bar wrappers! That penguin is adorable and I love her rainbow of colors! Great job, Cassidy! TFS and have a wonderful day! :)
ReplyDeleteToo cute, LeAnne ... a person wouldn't even mind another birthday with this cute card to commemorate it! Cassidy is really quite an artist!

So simple and yet so, so lovely. I really like what you did with the white stamped onto black then contrasted with the strong pink. Superb.
ReplyDeleteI love CAS designs and your design turned out pretty cool with the white stamping over the black!! I'm always needing birthday cards!! :)
ReplyDeleteLeAnne your chalkboard candles are amazing, really CAS and really perfect for the challenge! Now I just can't believe how Cassidy is growing up and I love that she was playing with your stamps and markers. Her picture is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a darling CAS card, great job!! Speaking of great jobs, look at Cassidy's work!! Is that a speech/dream bubble over her penguin, how cute!!
ReplyDeleteI love this LeAnne, saw you in the CASology gallery and I thought wait, that reminds me of something..then remembered your Retro Rubber entry. You are on a Pink, Black and White roll right now. Cx

ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I'm so happy to see your entry this week at CASology! I love the candle on the circular chalkboard, and the pop of pink is perfect! Great job, Cassidy, I love your non-traditional colors (that is something I admire...I can't think outside the box very well when it comes to that stuff!). Thanks for joining us at CASology!
ReplyDeleteLove how you've created a chalkboard with your cangles LeAnne and the splash of pink is the perfect embellishment!
