Hi everyone! It's Sunday, and that means another Paper Players challenge with the creative Nance as our hostess for our monthly Clean and Simple challenge! Here's your very seasonal prompt:
Oh my....SO many choices! I had a busy weekend, so I opted for a simple sentiment by Albert Camus (did you know his name is pronouned "Cay-MOO? Coulda knocked me over with a leaf, I do not speak French, obviously!), stamped in Sahara Sand, and a simple leaf diecut from thick white cardstock as well as a piece of Moroccan DSP:
I actually cut a couple of leaves from white cardstock and glued them together to create a thicker leaf that would stand out a bit from the Cajun Craze layer I placed under my stitched mat:
A little linen thread and my CAS creation was done! I hope you'll be inspired by our challenge this week and share your CAS project with us as well! Check out what the rest of the DT has done:
Yesterday our church participated in Samaritan Ministries' Operation Christmas Child, which is a program where small gift items, toys and personal products are gathered and put into shoeboxes, which are then shipped to children all around the world, along with the Good News of Jesus. Cassidy helped me make some sewing kits from discarded pill bottles; we covered the outside and lid of each bottle with some pretty papers, then filled them with buttons, thread, pins, needles and embroidery floss. They will also receive some scissors and fabric. She really liked helping me and we talked about the girls who would be receiving them.
Thanks for popping in today!
I love the simplicity of this card LeAnne and your single leaf in those rich Autumn colours - a perfect paper choice! I have a Camus story for you, but nothing to do with Autumn: I studied his book 'La Peste' (The Plague) for my French A level many years ago and the teacher was so impressed when we started the term and everyone confirmed they had read the whole book as instructed over the holidays; her pleasure soon turned to anger though when she asked why we kept referring to the central character as Peter and she discovered that we hadn't read the book in French at all - merely the English translation as it was much easier, but none of us had thought to check whether any of the details, such as names, had been changed during translation! We thought we were all being so smart - she however was not amused!!
ReplyDeleteI Love how industrious Cassidy is being with her shoe box kits - my children usually make these at Christmas time too for a similar charity and it is one of our festive highlights. Hugs to you!
