Happy Tuesday, peeps! I think my mojo has flown away with the little birdie that's on my card today! I guess my mind is on other things! At any rate, I tried four times before I came up with something that I felt was decent enough to submit to the Global Design Project challenge this week, which is to CASE Shawn De Oliveira:
There was no way I was going to attempt to duplicate that gorgeous watercoloring (at least not at 9:30 at night!) so I decided to CASE the sketch portion. I finally decided on using one of the bird diecuts from Birds and Blooms, some pretty Lost Lagoon cardstock and some Christmas DSP from a couple of years back along with some images and a sentiment from Best Birds:
I just love the birds in this set of dies, but I need to see what some other creative stampers have done with them....I haven't quite figured out how to use them to their best advantage! I cut this little fellow from Crumb Cake cardstock, did some sponging and added a little linen thread bow on his tail!
I also stamped the Best Birds cross-hatching in Versamark again, then stamped the flower images in Lost Lagoon ink; you can see how the LL ink is darker and stands out more:
I finished it off with a sentiment from the same set and some Lost Lagoon twine! Thanks for popping in!
Hard to believe we have gone from this:
Enjoy your day!
Gorgeous! Thanks for making me so happy I ordered this bundle!!!! ~chris
ReplyDeleteOh my! Has it been that long that I have been viewing your cards on your inspirational blog? I've seen Cassidy grow from an infant to a darling, soon to be first grader! You're right, where did the years go? I have loved watching her change into such a cute little girl. I love all the cards you've posted and get such inspiration from them. Keep sharing and I hope to be able to see Cassidy continue to grow, but I'm not rushing things here.
ReplyDeleteYour little bird is adorable ... how could he get cuter? You don't need to change a thing, LeAnne! Speaking of cute - is the Christmas DSP the dotted one? OH do I love it - probably not still available, if I want some, right? Cassidy, you are going to LOVE 1st grade - my own favorite year! xx and wishes for a great Summer vacation!

ReplyDeleteWell, this card is lovely and I'm sure the other ones that didn't make the cut were too! And congratulations to Cassidy on finishing kindergarten. The best is yet to come! I bet those five years flew by!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful CASE of Shawn's card this week LeAnne. Thank you so much for sharing it and playing along to the Global Design Project this week. xo
ReplyDeleteI do like this card today LeAnne. That bird really is sweet. I may have to rethink getting this die set.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Cassidy on graduating from Kindergarten. I hope she has a fun summer. Grade 1 here she comes;) Seeing these 2 pictures puts the past few years into perspective doesn't it......the time sure has flown by.
This is a terrific case of Shawns card. I love the bird die. It has been a treat to watch Cassidy grow into such a lovely first grader. I think she will really love school and making new friends.
ReplyDeleteAdorable card. It's been such fun watching Cassidy grow. Wow, our youngest grandie is 19!
ReplyDeleteYour card is really pretty. I love that bird die and that spotted paper! I am a polka dot lover! Cassidy has such a spunky personality. It comes across in her pictures and she is going to have a great time in first grade! She is the same age as one of my grandsons. It has been fun watching her grow as I have watched him! I love your tales of all your adventures!
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful! It shows off this bird die wonderfully. Love the harmony you've created.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous. I really need to get around to using my little bird. Thanks for the inspiration and for joining in with this week's Global Design Project!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card. I love how you have used similar colors and layout, but came up with a totally different card. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Global Design Project.
