The Butterflies Have It

Happy Thursday, all!  Two butterfly-themed cards today!  My first is for the Just Us Girls challenge, which is butterflies!

I had this scrap of butterfly paper sitting on my desk, so I matched it up with some papers from the same MME My Story DSP pad.  I added some black accents and a black Simon Says Stamp "Smile" die:

I love how the "smile" fits in with the words on the DSP!  I've stamped a birthday greeting on the inside for one of my TOPS friends!

My second butterfly card uses the As You See It sketch:

I had been experimenting with making my own DSP with some of the images from the free Paper Pumpkin stamp set called All About Everything, and I thought this panel would work with the sketch.  I stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, So Saffron, Hello Honey, Crumb Cake and the leaves in Mint Macaron:

I stamped the butterfly from Butterfly Basics in Blushing Bride and attached it to the stitched circle on which I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede with a subtle leafy image underneath:

I love these colors together!  I added a pretty seam binding bow and a pearl embellishment since this card will be hand-delivered to another TOPS friend!

Still on training wheels, but she makes up for it in speed!!!

Enjoy your day!

  1. Super cute cards, LeAnne! I could pick a favorite. They both have different looks and are both oh so pretty!! Cassidy will be on two wheels before you know it and then there will be no stopping her!!

  2. Oh wow do I ever love the black on the first one. It's such a striking card LeAnne! And the second is just dreamy. Very feminine too. Cassidy is such a little ham, but cute as can be!

  4. What beautiful do-it-yourself DSP! That butterfly is superb - it's a stamp I've not used often enough myself. I'm loving the light, fresh delicacy you've brought to our sketch this week at As You See It. Thanks for joining us again.

  5. Love those gorgeous pink flowers in your pot.
That DSP you created is beautiful. Those are great images for this. I don't get the Paper Pumpkin anymore as it was getting way too expensive with our dollar difference (and that was before our dollar got as bad as it is now), but this would have been a wonderful one to be part of.
I love the soft colours of the "sending wishes your way" card.
