Happy Tuesday, peeps! I needed some get-well cards, so I perused some challenges, checked out my DSP stash and went to work! First one uses the Mojo Monday 442 sketch:
I know I was gifted this cool paper by someone but I just can't remember who it was....but isn't it fun? This particular card is for a young man, so I tried not to make it too girly, although I did use Watermelon Wonder for the circle...hope he doesn't think it's too pink! The sentiment from Technique Tuesday was heat-embossed in white, and I used panels of Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Tangelo Twist and So Saffron and an assortment of stitched dies:
I finally used one of SU's epoxy stickers too, just for a fun effect!
The second one uses Inkspire Me's sketch:
I've been pushing this little scrap of polka-dotted paper around my desk for a while, so I thought it was time to use it when I saw the layout! I stamped the bird from Nature Walk in Early Espresso and added a wee bit of shading in blue and tan with a blender pen:
I know I'm supposed to have a bow in the lower righthand corner, but I chose to put my sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts there and added the bow on the burlap trim above. To do the burlap, I put a small piece of adhesive sheet on the back of SU's burlap ribbon and ran it through a scallop die. The little lace is tied with linen thread. It was all mounted on a Baja Breeze card that was stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in white craft ink.
So happy you could pop by today!
We had some incredible winds in the last few days, so we got out Cassidy's kite. I was doing really well until......
Yep, there really are kite-eating trees! Honestly, my kite-flying skills are SO BAD I never imagined I would even get it airborne! So there it is....still in the tree! It was a pretty one too, so sad! And I have a huge field behind the house that would have been perfect...no trees. I learned my lesson!
Enjoy your day!
Love these cards. Love the simplicity. Thanks for the inspiration, today. I need to get some Get Well cards made, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, you bring back sweet memories with the bird from "Nature Walk". That was a great stamp-set! Love your card and the subtle background. Sorry to here about the kite-accident. It happens to the best of us. ;-) Thanks for joining us at Inkspire me. Marion
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that I could pop by today too, LeAnne. You are always inspiring and these cards are fabulous! Each different but masterfully created. I prefer the bright circles of the first card but agree -- it is nice to see Nature's Walk again.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards- I really like the first one. Sorry about the kite. I guess the upside is you get to look up and enjoy the kite more frequently this way. ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are so fabulous! Love all those colorful dots! Thanks for joining us over at Mojo Monday!
ReplyDeleteTwo cards in one day, how productive and I am jealous! Each has such a distinctly different feel and I love them both. The big bright dots and stitched layers in the first one is so fun and striking, and the Nature Walk stamp set is one I refuse to part with mostly because of that bird. Darn those kite eating trees! I hope it gives it back someday!
ReplyDeleteGreat designs! Love the colorful dots on your first card. Thanks for joining us at Mojo Monday!
ReplyDeleteA real kite-eating tree - you crack me up! Love the colors in that card and I especially like the sticker accent. They're both wonderfully done.
ReplyDeleteThose big chunky polka dots are fun, what a terrific card!! Love that sweet little bird perched among the polka dots. I think your sentiment works perfectly there instead of the bow! Too bad about Cassidy's kite :(
ReplyDeleteI love your cards, LeAnne! Both are adorable! Thank you so much for playing Inkspire_me this week! Greetings from Bavaria, Kirstin
