Paper Players 285 Hello Sunshine

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I am so excited...the final episode of Downton Abbey is tonight...I can't wait!  Are you a fan?  I am praying for happy endings!! We'll have to wait and see!  But right now it's time for another Paper Players challenge and my sweet friend Sandy is our hostess...and she's got a wonderful challenge for us, very appropriate for this time of the year, LOL!  Check it out:

I am desperately (well, maybe not desperately) trying to use up some of my older DSPs and I found some cute MME Follow Your Heart papers with kites on them, because whenever I think of spring and sunshine, I think of playing outside and trying to fly a kite!  Unfortunately, I am more like Charlie Brown and I never have much success!  But in stamping, I can fly anything!  So here we go:

This is pretty simple card...the base is Daffodil Delight, a wee bit over 6" x 3 3/4".  I stamped the sun from Kinda Eclectic in So Saffron and the Jenni Bowlin silhouette in Basic Black.

I stamped "hello sunshine" from last year's Project Life's So You set, then cut out a kite from the same DSP and popped it up, adding some baker's twine and "bowties" from scraps of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight DSP:

Since the card was an odd measurement, I also made a custom envelope for it in the same sunshiney colors!

The design team has a lot of fun takes on Sandy's challenge!  Be sure to check them out below and show us yours as well on the Paper Players blog!

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your day!

  1. What a lovely card - the perfect reminder of warm, breezy days! We have a kite and. love to fly it (more than the children I think!) It's such fun. Love the patterns paper and the silhouette works really well - the little girl really stands out. Cute addition of the bows on the kite string too! Enjoy your last Downton fix this evening :-)

  2. You certainly can fly anything when it comes to stamping! This is adorable! Love the silhouette girl and the paper is sweet! I think Casssidy and Emma would have a great time together in our craft spaces!

  3. I am a huge Downton fan, but am very sad about the conclusion of the series, LeAnne! Come watch with me ... bring that silhouette stamp? =]
Darling little kites, and, yes certainly a favorite thought in Spring!

  4. Gorgeous card, LeAnne!! Love your take on the theme - your kites are lovely and I love the different patterns you combined.

I'm so sad tonight is the last Downton Abbey episode. :( Like you, I'm hopeful that every story line ends happily and we are all left with a content feeling. Although, I'm still very disappointed that there will not be something to look forward to. *sigh* I haven't been able to get into any of the other PBS or BBC shows.

  5. LeAnne, what a wonderful, sunny scene you have created. I love that you stamped the silhouette in black, it really pops from the page. Love the use of the kites. Really reminds me of Summer.

  11. Kites certainly mean spring and sunshine. Such a cute and sunny looking card. I'm envious of how you use stamped images with patterned paper and make them look like they were meant to be together. Love this!
