Happy Sunday, peeps! Joanne is our Paper Players hostess today and she has a fun challenge for us:
Oh, what to choose, what to choose? So many possibilities! I had a Cornish Heritage Farm set called Vintage Signage sitting on my desk, so I thought I would go with the Warm Wooly Mitten Company sign and use red, black and silver for my challenge:
I used the sketch from As You See It:
and went to work! I stamped the sign in black Memento ink and stamped SU’s Hardwood background stamp on top, after stamping off once. The sentiment was stamped in Real Red, and I used a candy dot and brad to make the little hanger. I diecut my mittens from a Spellbinder’s die and used some SU silver twine to hang them. I hand-cut a couple of banners from silver and red glimmer paper to place behind the sign:
and then, just for fun, added a little snowflake on the sign and star on the mitten! I used a MFT scalloped edge die for the bottom edge.
Finally, I added some Silver Encore stars from the Jingle All the Way set. Lots of fun stuff going on here! I am also entering this in the Inkspirational challenge #95, which is any color plus silver!
I hope you’ll play along with the Players this week….wait ‘til you see what the other designers created! Check ‘em out:
Cassidy and Dominic at a “make-your-own-pizza” place….not sure why Cassidy is smelling her dough, but it looks like fun anyway!! Enjoy your day!
Oh my gosh!! those mittens look so warm and fuzzy, soon I will dig mine out, it's so cold up here already. Love your card LeAnne, that sign looks so vintage with the Hardwood stamp in the background and the fabulous bling of the glimmer papers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Maria.
So cute -- love the dangling, felt mittens.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to know where to start raving over this stunning card: the cutest little felt mittens, the subtle backgrounding with the hardwood stamp, the contrast of bling and rustic, the soft detailing of the silver stars on the panel, the repetition of the mitten motif - or just the outright wonderfulness of the whole thing! Thank you so much for joining us this week at As You See It. It was a nice surprise to be scrolling through the new challenge at Paper Players and recognising the sketch!
