Hello all! It’s Sunday and Nance is our sweet hostess today for the Paper Players, and she has a sweet clean and simple challenge for us:
Oh, I had so many ideas in my head, and in the end, probably didn’t end up with a card as clean and simple as I could have! That’s unusual, because I really like the CAS style, but I like my final result, and this looks more complex than it really is! I used last week’s As You See It sketch (it’s closed now, though) because I really loved it, and it fit the look I was trying to achieve:
I love this Darice embossing folder but I only use it a few times each fall! I chose Mossy Meadow as my top layer, a color that I like but sometimes forget about! I took a page from an old house plant book and layered it behind my Lawn Fawn stitched leaf, then added a sentiment from Happy Scenes on an Itty Bitty Banner diecut:
Some sponging, linen thread and a couple of sequins finished it off. I did add a little line of Crumb Cake-stamped acorns down the left side, which is from an older autumn Impression Obsession set. This was a sympathy card for a fellow cardmaker and I hope it brought her a wee bit of comfort.
What CAS leafy creation will you share with us this week? Check out the other designers’ cards…not all of them are fall leaves, either! Here are their links:
Cassidy took her tall doll (from a friend in Australia) and dressed her in some of her own clothing…pants and hightops….. and a doll bathrobe! Then she helped her “walk” down the hall! And yes, there’s a half-naked baby laying on the bed too!
Later on, she changed her into her own jacket and then used the sleeves to tie her to the swing! She has imagination!
Enjoy your day and be blessed!
love this Leeanne it is gorgeously rich and simle perfection

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card LeAnne. Love that green embossed layer and the wood leaf.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of Cassidy. Yes, she does have imagination and that is good. A great playtime.
LeAnne you are killing me with these gorgeous embossing folders lately ... gorgeous, every one! May I tell Cassidy about my favorite doll? - she was nearly my same size at 8 years old - and my Mom made her an entire wardrobe of clothes which included among them knitted slippers, flannel pjs [just like mine] and a coat with real fur collar and muff!! You'll explain what that is, okay? LOve your card and your darling little girl!

I love that embossed card front LeAnne - it is so striking in Mossy Meadow against the other neutral and natural elements. Great take on the sketch too - I recognised it right away! A gorgeous seasonally-inspired card. Love following Cassidy's antics too - just how children should be!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, beautiful card LeAnne! I too love the embossing folder you used, and the way you combined it with the border stamping and the single stitched leaf, stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one impressive embossing folder! What a gorgeous background it makes. And I really like how you incorporated a page from an old book. It gives this a lovely vintage look!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, you know I LOVE embossing folders. This leaf folder is gorgeous! The vintage book page is fabulous! You are so creative, My Friend! Cassidy's doll is so fun! One lucky doll to have her for a Mommy! XX
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, everything about this card speaks to my heart! The color palette, the leaves, the texture and an old book! All wonderful elements that work beautifully together. That embossing folder is to die for--what texture! A fabulous card--thank you for rockin' my challenge!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, I love the way you carried the leaves from the edge to the background and then to the center of the circle. There is so much incredible detail, but it still feels uncluttered and clean. Fabulous!
