Mojo Monday 379

DSCF7183

Happy Wednesday, peeps!  We had a snow day yesterday, so I stayed inside and did lots of stamping!  And it’s COLD today, too!  Brrrr!    Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card, so I used the Mojo Monday sketch:
I used some new as well as retired items on my card; Newsprint DSP, Blushing Bride pleated ribbon, Established Elegance stamped in Smoky Slate on the background panel, and an assortment of butterflies, along with Petite Pairs:

There are all kinds of tutorials on the web these days about how to used waxed paper and a dryer sheet to get these Butterfly diecuts to pop out easily, and I kept the waxed paper diecut and placed it behind my Very Vanilla butterfly to give it a little bit of interest.  I also added pearls to the In Color sequins:

Any questions, just shoot me an email!
I didn’t have Cassidy yesterday, but I was able to get some fun shots of an assortment of birds on my little suet feeder, all in the span of about 15 minutes.  (This is photo heavy, so if you’re not a birder, skip it!)

I was only able to get a shot of this male downy woodpecker once, he was very shy!

A little Carolina wren:

A white-breasted nuthatch (he looks a bit angry, doesn’t he?):

A slate-colored junco:

A tufted titmouse:

And even a mockingbird!

I had to laugh at this junco and American goldfinch….they look like they are singing a duet!  But not really….they’re actually yelling at each other!!!

Enjoy your day!  Stay warm!!

  1. Now that we have snow on the ground, there are more visitors to the bird feeders, including a cardinal. (I hope it doesn't start banging the windows again!). Rick hung a second feeder outside the family room doors and a tray of seed on the deck where we can watch the ground feeders as well. I love how they take turns coming for their food, so polite. Better than humans at times!

  2. Okay the card is cute but the birds, hilarious, like yelling hey this snow melts and it's like water guys, come on over. Thanks for sharing. I did a lot of stamping yesterday too. My camera is acting up so was even going to blog but I can't take pictures, darn it. Have a great day.

  6. Hi LeAnne, you sure know your birds, great pictures. I love the little bird feeder. The snow does look pretty but I imagine it can be a pest at times. We are having, in some parts of the country 40dc, hot, hot, hot. I have a granddaughter the same age as Cassidy and if she ever wants a pen pal from Australia let me know. Her name is Abbie. Bye for now Rene from OZ xo

  7. I love your card and that you saved and used the waxed paper. It really does add interest though I'm sure the card would be beautiful without it. Spent a lot of time watching my feeders yesterday too. It is fun isn't it!

  8. Your card is beautiful and I may case it. Although I am not a big "bird" person I just love the pictures you took. How nice to have all them outside your home and you know all their names.

  9. I loved all the bird pics! I got a chuckle out of them....particularly the one with the two birds having the heated conversation. Your card is beautiful, by the way. I've seen that dryer sheet technigue as well, but haven't tried it yet. I love this new butterfly stamp set and framelets dies.
