Paper Players 223

DSCF6280

Happy Sunday, peeps!  Wow, what a busy week I just went through!  I am so happy to see Sunday!  My upline Pennie had a meeting for some of her downline at my church yesterday, and we had such a nice time!  It’s always fun to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones!

Today it is my turn to be hostess for the Paper Players, and I have a sketch for you:

I have one last Thanksgiving card for you using this sketch, and I have to chuckle; this is in the mail already to my sister in South Carolina, and she happened to be sitting right next to me as I was typing this up, but she was on her iPad and not paying a bit of attention to me, so it will be a surprise to her when she goes home today and finds it in her mailbox!

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 223 Give Thanks Thanksgiving Stampin Up

As I look at my photo, the Very Vanilla circle looks almost stark white, but it really matches quite nicely IRL!  My card base is Very Vanilla, and I added a Crumb Cake panel stamped with the retired Linen background stamp; the plaid is some retired DSP from a couple of autumns ago.  The sentiment is from last month’s Paper Pumpkin kit!   The turkey is a single stamp (also retired; I think it’s called GIve Thanks) that I stamped in Early Espresso and matted on an EE scallop:

I added a burlap ribbon layered with two EE ribbons, and on top, an acorn that I painted with acrylic paints:

On the inside, the turkey makes an appearance again, this time stamped in Crumb Cake, with a retired sentiment from Holiday Best stamped on top.

I hope you’ll find some inspiration with my sketch this week, and be sure to share your creation with us at the Paper Players!  Check out what the other designers did as well!

I didn’t really get many photos from our meeting, but here is one of me and my little downline:

My friend Joan; me; my downline Laura; her downline Dawn; and my downline Jen.  We had a lot of fun, learned lots of stuff and went home with lots of goodies!

And just so you don’t miss her too much, here’s Miss Cassidy at a local mall:

  7. I'm so happy to hear about the fun you had yesterday. I'm glad you were able to end your very busy week with some fun and connecting with friends.
That's funny about your sister not paying attention to what you were doing. She will love her beautiful card from you. The plaid paper is beautiful. Love the burlap and acorn (wonderful painting). Cute turkey image.
It's so good to see Cassidy again too.

  11. LOVE this sketch this week and love your personal take on it! Your card inspired me to put together a thanksgiving card for later this week, even though we don't celebrate it here in the UK! Such a great card - the burlap and little painted acorn are just the most adorable finishing touch!

  13. That turkey is so charming. The embellishment is just right - wonderfully rustic, great detail - yet doesn't distract from the turkey.
