Hello peeps! A quick post today, lots of stuff to do! The Paper Craft Crew challenge had an interesting sketch this week:
and it gave me a chance to use some of my Gold Soiree paper for the first time:
I admit that this card seems a bit busier than my usual style! I stamped the main panel twice…..first in Cameo Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe, then I did another one in Crisp Cantaloupe and Blushing Bride, but I kept coming back to the original, darker one…..so that’s what I went with! I used Hello Darling for my images, and I also used the striped circle for the two lower elements. A sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts seemed to fit just perfectly! The final touch was some pearls.
I originally had planned to use some different photos for today’s post, but we had a little mishap at my brother’s house yesterday…the kids were all playing at the playhouse, swinging, sliding and climbing the monkey bars, and Cassidy took a bit of a risk and ended up breaking her wrist!! A trip to the ER, and four hours later:
It’s splinted right now, she’ll go to the orthopedic surgeon to have a real cast put on it today. She really was doing better than this photo suggests….she and Mommy were making sad faces! A little Motrin did wonders!!! Grammy feels a wee bit bad that it was on her watch, but we know these things happen! Have a great day!
Awww! Poor Cassidy! Hope she will do great with getting the cast on and that she will heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteBut she can let grammy stamp on her cast! Sometimes it doesn't tak much of a fall. Our youngest daughter fell about 2 feet when she was 5 and broke her arm. Like you said - these things happen.
What lovely stamps and colors on your 'busy' floral card LeAnne! Very pretty! and poor Cassidy - at least the hot summer is over and she hopfully won't sweat so much under the cast - and getting all the attention will help a bit with the pain of it all! hope it heals soon!
ReplyDeletePoor little girl. Big kises to her.
ReplyDeleteA lovely floral card LeAnne!! Poor little Cassidy, such a tiny arm in that big wrap. After the cast goes on maybe she'll let grammy jazz it up for her!!
ReplyDeleteOHHH! The poor sweetie! I hope she is doing okay. I broke my wrist three years ago. Very painful even with the cast on. Virtual hug.
ReplyDeleteAwww poor Cassidy. I will be praying for quick healing for her. Praying for you also.
ReplyDeleteI do like the colours and the DP on your card today. These are pretty images too - I'll need to check this set out.
Uh oh! She'll heal quickly...kids do! Love the card today. That DSP is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePoor little Miss Cassidy. Tell her we hope she is feeling better really, really fast!
ReplyDeletePretty card!
ReplyDeleteFeel better Cassidy.
Lovely card, sad faced child, even if it was hamming it up a bit with mommy. And as you well know, it can (and usually does) happen on everyone's watch sometime. You can swaddle them all the time (though it would certainly make things easier sometimes if you could!)
ReplyDeleteSo sad for Cassidy. I know you must feel bad, too. I am so thankful that nobody in my household has ever broken anything, except a nose in a volleyball game.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the card, and it just makes me want to order more of that paper, as I just keep using it all the time, and I can't stop playing with the Hello Darling set either. Goes together so nicely. I love how you added the striped circles, which I have never found a use for myself.
Pretty floral card and I love that "just because" font. What a shame for Cassidy. I hope she loves her cast and decorates it. Every time my boys had to have stitches I was right there and couldn't have stopped what happened. Kids are fearless so they do things that aren't always the best choices! Give her lots of hugs.
ReplyDeletePoor Miss Cassidy.....and poor Grandma.....such a worry! Glad she is in a.pink cast and healing
ReplyDelete!
I hope Cassidy is on the mend and that Grandma is feeling better too! Your card certainly is cheery and bright. All the elements go so well together. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove your card LeAnne - so colourful! What a sad face on Miss Cassidy today - I'm sure she will recover quickly from her fall and break, children have a way of bouncing back. Hugs to you too - don't feel bad it was on your watch, it could have happened any time!
ReplyDeleteThat sad face says it all...she's too cute to be hurt...hope it heals fast!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card for the sketch LeAnne and pretty DSP too! So sorry to hear about Cassidy's arm but I hope she's feeling better and am sure Gram will have helped make her cast pretty. Thanks so much for joining us at the Paper Craft Crew this week :-)
