Paper Players 184

DSCF1126-001

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Hope you’re having a good weekend so far!  Today Jaydee is our Paper Players hostess with this fun, easy sketch:

Oooh, lots of possibilities for this sketch!  I needed a birthday card, so I pulled out some scraps of Birthday Basics DP, cut them into strips and started working:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Paper Players 184 Celebrate Birthday Card Stampin Up

I added some Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe speckles with my Gorgeous Grunge set, as well as a bright little strip of red glimmer paper!  A little “celebrate” from Fabulous Phrases is my simple sentiment.   And we can’t have a birthday party without a party hat, so I used the pennant punch to create a little hat;  I rounded the bottom edge a wee bit, stamped the stripe from Gorgeous Grunge on top (it overlapped a little, making those cool horizontal lines), sponged the sides, then added a little resin flower for the pom pom on top!

And I used a little piece of twine from the SAB Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack to make the chin strap!!!  Super fun!  Now, what can you create with this easy-peasy sketch?  We hope you will play along this week, and if you need some inspiration, check out the designers’ creations as well:
It is so much fun to put buttons in a jar!

  2. Birthday Basics is one of my faves- using it this month in class. You made a simple looking sketch come to life wonderfully LeAnne! Love the birthday hat with the chin strap;) I recently had my neice's son visit me in my makeshift craft center while I was staying with my MIL during our move. I had him sorting buttons, running scraps through embossing folders to keep him occupied- he loved it! And, he even made a sweet valentine for his mom.

  10. This is just so stinkin' adorable, LeAnne! I love the combination of patterns and colors you've selected. The little pennant punch birthday hat with it's dahlia pom-pom is wicked clever! Great job! ((hugs))

  11. Oh! Gorgeous grunge! I wondered about the splatters. So often I see great splatters on a card and find out they are made by actually splattering via a brush... well, that sounds way too messy and way too inaccurate for me, but Gorgeous Grunge I can do that! I love your festive card. The pom pom made me squeal!
