Happy Tuesday, peeps! Wow, this month is almost over…how can that be? Arielle is ending January with a beauty of a challenge today:
And with apologies to my SIL (sorry, Louise), who despises buttons, I chose to make an art piece rather than a card today! I had a plethora of pink buttons and a premade burlap-covered frame:
so I simply cut out a white felt heart using SU’s Heart Framelits, then just hot glued all the buttons on….you may still see some of those pesky hot-glue threads, LOL! I added three little love sentiments from the Expressions Thinlits in Primrose Petals, Blush Blossom and Pink Pirouette:
And finally, to finish it off, I attached some beautiful (retired) pleated ribbon in Blush Blossom on the sides:
And it looks “lovely” hanging on my craft room wall! Now, what can you create with these soft beautiful colors of love? I hope you will play along and share your creation with us at the ColourQ blog! Can’t wait to see them!
John is working on the inside of his new garage, putting up insulation. The mountains of them were too enticing for Cassidy not to play on!!! Of course, it’s still about 25 degrees inside….brrrrrr!
Enjoy your day!
What a great way to use up the buttons and create a pretty wall hanging for the craft room! Love it! Can't believe you SIL wouldn't like this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty way to use lots of buttons! This heart looks so pretty against the burlap and I love all the love in 3 pinks!
ReplyDeleteokay what is wrong with your SIL. Not liking buttons, I mean really. LOL! Darling project LeAnne. Nice garage!
ReplyDeleteLeAnne, this is just wonderful! I love the felt and buttons! Such a lovely wall hanging for any room. You're so inspirational! Stay warm this week.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love, your love project.
ReplyDeleteThere is someone who doesn't like buttons? Wow I think buttons are so much fun. Oh the stories they could tell.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet art piece!
Who could resist that pile of pillows. LOL Boy 25 would fell good to us today. LOL
I love love love this project. Love the hearts, love the colours and love the "loves" :)
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a quilted wall hanging I made quite a few years ago. Although the colours are different, it has an appliqued heart filled with buttons on it.
My apologies to your SIL but SWOON ~ just look at all of those sweet buttons!! Darling project LeAnne!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect representation of the the challenge image....so adorable! Honestly? There are people (like your SIL) that don't like buttons? Unfathomable!
ReplyDeleteawesome art piece!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this, LeAnne! Such a perfect way to use up your button stash. The burlap is the perfect background for that adorable heart and sentiment. I am kicking myself for not buying the thinlits when I should have. ;(
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you've heard of the hair dryer tip to melt away the hot glue strands? I use my hair dryer to add a quick blast of hot air to shrivel up the glue strands whenever I use the glue gun. Just be careful not to hold it too long in any one spot as you don't want to dislodge the actual item glued down. ;)
Oh my goodness, I love this! The texture from the burlap and the buttons is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this card, LeAnne! You have really added some gorgeous creations this week. Can you please send that stamping mojo over this way? Oh, and could you also send me a hat like Cassidy's too? So adorable!
