The chalkboard technique is pretty trendy right now, and I had just the right “subway-style” stamp to use:
I know a lot of tutorials encourage you to sort of smudge the “chalk” to make the chalkboard look more realistic, but I just stamped my words in white craft ink and set it with some white pastels. Close-up, you can see some smudging, but from here, it looks pretty clean. This image is fairly tall, so I made my card a tent-style one, added a nice little diecut mat to the top, where I attached my silver bell, greenery and bow:
Since SU now has the envelope board, it was a piece of cake to make a custom envelope for my extra-tall card! I have been hoarding a plethora of older 12x12 Christmas paper, so I pulled some out to make the envelope, and now it’s ready to go into my Christmas card stash! I know that you’ll want to try this chalkboard technique this week, and you’ll want to share it with us at the Merry Monday challenge, found on Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper! Can’t wait to see yours!
A couple more pictures from Thanksgiving!
Have a blessed day!

ReplyDelete(P.S. If you don't mind others CASEing how you did your table style for your ingredients, I would love to know how you did that. A few months ago, Blogger started putting extra row spacing in my list and a box around my name and it drives me nuts. But if it's proprietary, I understand. It looks great!!)
